Description
Head of Data Center and Capacity Partnerships, AI Infrastructure
DriveNets, AI Business Unit. Remote US-based preferred; frequent travel.
About the Company
DriveNets is a leader in high-scale networking software for AI infrastructure and service providers. The company pioneered a disaggregated networking architecture that transforms the economics of large-scale networks while maximizing performance, utilization, and operational efficiency. DriveNets-powered networks are deployed by global leaders, including AT&T and Comcast, supporting more than 30% of total U.S. internet traffic. DriveNets AI Fabric delivers full-stack networking for AI infrastructures, providing the highest-performance, Ethernet-based alternative to InfiniBand. The solution is deployed by hyperscalers, NeoClouds, and enterprises worldwide. With over $1B raised, DriveNets continues to push the boundaries of modern networking infrastructure.
The Role
DriveNets builds the networking fabric and services behind large AI clusters for neoclouds, AI companies and enterprises. As our AI business scales, the relationships that matter most sit with the people who control compute and data center capacity: data center operators and developers, colocation and power providers, and the clouds building on top of them.
We are hiring a senior partner to own those relationships. This is a relationships-first role: your network in the AI data center world is your most valuable asset. You will know where capacity exists and is being built, who controls it, when it is ready and what it costs, and you will use that knowledge to help our customers and partners get clusters built faster.
This is not a procurement or supply chain role. You need to be able to pick up the phone and get a straight answer on megawatts, timing and price, structure the partnership that follows, and stay close to the deal through deployment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain partnerships with data center operators and developers, colocation and power providers, and neoclouds across the geographies our customers need.
- Keep a current, accurate picture of available and upcoming capacity: power, space, ready dates and commercial terms.
- Work with our sales team and executives to connect capacity with customers that need it, and respond quickly to urgent “can you find me capacity” requests.
- Structure and negotiate partnership agreements with capacity providers, within guidelines set with leadership.
- Bring data center partners into customer engagements alongside our silicon and server partners, and keep the relationship through deployment and expansion.
- Provide market intelligence to leadership on where AI capacity is being built, by whom, and on what economics.
Who you are
- Established, direct relationships with data center operators and developers, colocation and power providers, and neoclouds, with a proven record of sourcing capacity (MW or GPUs) through them.
- Deep, current knowledge of the AI data center landscape: where capacity exists, who controls it, what it costs, and how to reach capacity before it is widely available.
- Commercial judgment to structure and negotiate partnership agreements.
- Technical understanding to talk credibly with engineers about power, cooling, site readiness, GPU types and cluster requirements.
- Deal-making instinct: you understand what each party in an infrastructure deal needs in order to say yes.
- Organized and fast: you can track dozens of providers with accurate availability and pricing, and respond to urgent requests in hours.
- A clear communicator across providers, customers, executives and internal teams.
- Stability and long-term thinking: this is a relationship business.
Preferred
- Experience at a neocloud, GPU aggregator or marketplace, data center developer or colocation provider where capacity availability was the constraint.
- Existing relationships with the major neoclouds and with the cloud partner ecosystems of the leading AI silicon vendors.
- Knowledge of bare-metal data center operations, power procurement and capacity planning.
- Understanding of GPU types, specifications and AI/ML workload requirements.
- High-growth startup background.
