Head of Development

Head of Development Come join us and help shape the technology behind the future of music creation. We’re looking for a Head of Development to join a growing music tech company in Stockholm and lead a small team of 4–5 developers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll still spend real time coding, while owning technical decisions, planning and delivery and working closely with product and marketing to turn ideas into shipped features. Must Haves Experience as a Tech Lead or Team Lead, or a Senior/Staff Engineer with genuine experience leading and supporting other developers Strong full-stack development experience, with the ability to work comfortably across backend, web and application development A genuinely hands-on approach, with the ability to design, review and ship code alongside the team Experience taking ownership of planning and delivery, including scoping work, setting priorities and keeping development moving Strong technical decision-making skills, with the ability to take ownership of architecture as the product and team grow A pragmatic, product-minded approach, focused on what gets built, why it matters and getting features into production Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, marketing and the wider business Nice to Haves: Experience working with Python and FastAPI to build and maintain backend services and APIs Experience developing modern web applications using React and TypeScript Exposure to Flutter and building or maintaining cross-platform mobile applications Experience working with AWS and Postgres in a production environment Familiarity with Angular and TypeScript, particularly for internal tools or applications Experience with C++, ideally involving low-level development or audio technology Previous experience within music tech, audio or a closely related industry An understanding of music theory or experience playing an instrument, giving you a genuine understanding of the product and its users Department Management Locations Stockholm Remote status Hybrid Applicant tracking system by Teamtailor
