About Generation Girl
Generation Girl is an Indonesian nonprofit that helps girls and young women build real skills in STEM, data, and AI, and carry those skills into meaningful careers. We work with learners from junior high school through early-career professionals across Indonesia.
Our programs include Holiday Club (seasonal STEM bootcamps), Electives (school and company workshops), HackHERthon (our annual programming competition), AI Training, Mentorship, and Leaders, a network of university chapters run by young women on their own campuses.
About the role
You’ll lead marketing for Generation Girl: how young women across Indonesia find us, decide to join, and come back for more. You’ll set the strategy, direct the creative work, and use data to decide what to keep doing and what to stop.
This is a full-time role based in Jakarta, where most of our programs run. You’ll report to the COO, who started in this same role, and you’ll lead a small team that includes our Social Media Specialist and project-based designers.
We care more about where you’re heading than how many years you’ve worked. If you make strong creative work, can keep several projects moving at once, and are curious about what the numbers say, we’d like to hear from you.
Strategy and creative
Build the yearly and per-program marketing plan for Generation Girl, tied to registration and reach targets for each program
Come up with campaign ideas across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and media partners, and turn them into briefs the team can produce
Direct the marketing team’s visual and written work, and give clear feedback on design, copy, and media partnership choices
Keep the brand consistent across programs, chapters, and partner materials
Data and performance
Set KPIs for each channel and campaign before it launches, not after
Read performance data (Meta Business Suite, TikTok analytics, and registration data from our forms and impact sheets) and decide what to stop, change, or do more of
Write a monthly marketing report that explains what happened, why, and what you’ll do differently next month
Project management and collaboration
Run marketing timelines for several programs at once, working with the Events, Education, Bizdev, and Community teams
Plan content around the program calendar so promotion starts early enough to hit registration targets
Team leadership
Lead and develop the marketing team, including setting priorities and reviewing work
Set clear goals and expectations for each team member, including project-based contributors, and check in on progress regularly
Run performance evaluations for the marketing team, and turn the results into concrete development plans
What we’re looking for
3+ years in digital marketing, brand, or content, with at least one campaign you planned and led end to end
A portfolio of creative work you made or directed (design, video, copy, or campaigns)
Comfort working with numbers: you’ve set targets, tracked results, and changed a plan because of what the data showed
Strong project management habits: you can run several timelines at once and keep other teams informed without being chased
Experience leading or mentoring at least one other person, formally or informally
Fluent written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English, and able to edit and sharpen other people’s copy
Comfortable with Notion, Slack, Meta Business Suite, and Google Sheets
Based in Jakarta, or willing to relocate before your start date
Nice to have
Hands-on copywriting skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Hands-on design or video editing skills (Figma, Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar)
Experience with paid social ads and A/B testing
Experience marketing to students or young professionals, or in education or nonprofits
Experience running performance reviews or giving structured feedback to a team
Interest in women in tech, or a STEM background of your own
