Role Description

The Head of Operations at Yemert will oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring efficient service delivery to farmers and partners across Nigeria and other African markets. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Nigeria, combining on-site engagement with stakeholders and teams with the flexibility to work from home as appropriate. Key responsibilities include optimizing processes, managing operational workflows, coordinating cross-functional teams, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure quality and reliability of Yemert’s USSD-based services. The Head of Operations will lead budgeting and resource allocation, support strategic planning, and implement controls that enable scalable growth. This role also involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement, aligning operations with Yemert’s mission, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of experience in operations, business management, consulting, strategy, or a related leadership function.
• Demonstrated experience building or improving operational systems in a startup, growing business, or complex organisation.
• Strong commercial thinking and an understanding of how operations connect to revenue.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions quickly, and operate effectively with limited resources.
• Strong project management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working across multiple teams, locations, or markets is an advantage.
• Experience in agritech, fintech, insurance, climate finance, or other emerging-market sectors is a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to work closely with teams on the ground and travel when required.
