About the Opportunity
We've partnered up with a leading, high-growth DTC health and wellness brand with an established international presence, a sophisticated performance marketing operation, and an expanding portfolio of innovative consumer products.
Operating at significant scale in a highly competitive market, the company is investing in its next phase of growth by strengthening its creative leadership, expanding its performance marketing capabilities, and developing a more effective, data-driven creative ecosystem.
We're looking for an exceptional Head of Performance Creative to take ownership of the creative strategy behind profitable customer acquisition across multiple products and paid media channels.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial instincts, exceptional direct-response creative judgment, and proven experience leading high-performing creative teams and agencies.
You'll work closely with Growth leadership, internal creative strategists, external production partners, and performance marketing teams to develop a consistent pipeline of high-performing advertising concepts.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Own Performance Creative Strategy
Develop and and execute a comprehensive creative testing strategy aligned with customer acquisition targets, product priorities, and profitability goals.
Identify new advertising opportunities through audience research, customer psychology, market trends, competitor analysis, and performance insights.
Build a balanced pipeline of original advertising concepts, proven creative iterations, refreshed winners, and product launch campaigns.
Guide creative development across the customer journey, from awareness and education to consideration and conversion.
Identify gaps in messaging, customer segments, creative angles, formats, and product positioning.
Collaborate with media buying and conversion optimization teams to ensure creative strategy supports campaign performance and landing-page effectiveness.
Lead and Elevate Creative Teams and Agency Partners
Lead, mentor, and develop internal creative strategists, helping them strengthen their commercial judgment, creative thinking, and execution.
Establish clear performance expectations, quality standards, and accountability frameworks across creative teams and agencies.
Direct external creative agencies, including strategic briefing, performance evaluation, creative reviews, and ongoing optimization.
Assess agency effectiveness and make recommendations on resource allocation, expansion, restructuring, or replacement.
Provide high-level creative direction while empowering team members to make independent, well-informed decisions.
Create a collaborative operating environment where internal teams, agencies, and Growth leadership work toward shared commercial objectives.
Turn Creative Performance Data Into Growth Decisions
Lead recurring creative performance reviews focused on actionable decisions, rather than reporting alone.
Evaluate advertising performance using metrics such as ROAS, new-customer acquisition efficiency, CPA, conversion rates, creative engagement, and profitable media spend.
Use attribution and analytics platforms such as Triple Whale and native advertising dashboards to understand creative effectiveness.
Identify why specific ads succeed or underperform, considering messaging, audience relevance, creative execution, product positioning, and conversion experience.
Develop clear recommendations on which concepts to scale, refine, retest, discontinue, or replace.
Proactively address creative fatigue by ensuring a consistent pipeline of new concepts and replacement creatives.
Establish a centralized knowledge base of winning concepts, unsuccessful tests, creative insights, and reusable learnings.
Drive Creative Innovation and Quality
Translate customer research, reviews, surveys, social conversations, and market intelligence into fresh creative opportunities.
Develop new advertising angles based on customer pain points, product benefits, emotional motivations, objections, and credible proof.
Personally develop or substantially refine approximately 10 high-quality creative briefs per week, while overseeing the broader creative output of the team.
Provide expert creative feedback across UGC, video advertisements, scripts, static ads, product demonstrations, storytelling, hooks, and landing-page concepts.
Ensure concepts go beyond superficial variations and introduce meaningful new approaches to customer acquisition.
Balance premium brand presentation with the persuasive messaging and execution required for direct-response advertising.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure product claims and advertising messaging meet applicable compliance standards.
Build a Scalable Creative Execution System
Establish clear workflows connecting research, ideation, briefing, production, approvals, launch, and performance analysis.
Partner with Creative Operations to improve production visibility, ownership, and execution efficiency.
Maintain an organized creative pipeline using Notion or comparable workflow management tools.
Identify recurring production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve delivery speed and quality.
Align creative priorities with business objectives, available production resources, and media buying requirements.
Introduce repeatable quality assurance processes, performance scorecards, and decision-making frameworks.
Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve reporting, research, and operational efficiency.

Stronger acquisition performance: A growing contribution of profitable advertising spend from newly developed, validated creative concepts.

Higher creative effectiveness: Improved success rates among sufficiently tested concepts, supported by disciplined analysis.
Reduced creative fatigue: Proactive replacement and improvement of declining advertising assets.
Stronger team performance: Creative strategists and agencies producing better work with greater ownership and less dependency on senior Growth leadership.
Faster, more reliable execution: Improved briefing, production, testing, and launch workflows without unnecessary administrative complexity.
Better strategic decisions: Clear visibility into what is working, what isn't, and where the next creative opportunities exist.
Your First 90 Days
Month 1 — Understand, Audit, and Prioritize
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing creative operation, including advertising performance, creative strategy, internal talent, agency partnerships, testing methodologies, and production workflows. Identify the highest-impact opportunities and establish clear performance baselines.
Month 2 — Strengthen Systems and Execution
Implement improved creative testing priorities, strategist and agency accountability frameworks, structured performance reviews, and stronger processes for translating campaign learnings into new creative development. Address key execution bottlenecks.
Month 3 — Demonstrate Measurable Progress
Show early improvements in creative testing effectiveness, fresh winning creative contribution, team ownership, and production consistency. Establish a clear strategic roadmap for scaling the creative function.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a commercially driven creative leader who has operated in demanding, performance-focused DTC environments and understands what it takes to develop winning advertising creative at scale.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience leading performance creative strategy for an established, high-growth DTC/eCommerce brand or a performance-focused creative agency.
Demonstrated success developing, testing, and scaling winning paid advertising concepts, particularly across Meta.
Strong experience managing, mentoring, or providing strategic direction to creative strategists and external agency partners.
Deep understanding of direct-response marketing, consumer psychology, persuasive storytelling, and conversion-focused creative.
Strong commercial understanding of customer acquisition economics, ROAS, attribution, paid media performance, and creative profitability.
Ability to interpret advertising performance data, identify meaningful insights, and translate findings into concrete creative decisions.
Exceptional creative judgment across advertising concepts, copywriting, scripts, UGC, video, static assets, and other performance formats.
Experience overseeing multiple campaigns, product categories, stakeholders, or creative production partners simultaneously.
Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to build repeatable systems without sacrificing creative agility.
Excellent written communication and ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed, remote-first team.
Willingness to remain hands-on with creative strategy and briefs while operating at a senior leadership level.
Highly Desirable
Experience with established DTC brands in health, wellness, consumer technology, connected devices, or premium consumer products.
Exposure to significant paid media budgets and complex, multi-product customer acquisition strategies.
Proficiency with Triple Whale, Motion, Foreplay, Notion, or similar performance analytics and creative management platforms.
Experience developing performance creative across Meta, YouTube, Google Demand Gen, and TikTok.
A track record of implementing creative testing frameworks, team scorecards, agency performance systems, or structured creative intelligence libraries.
Strong understanding of customer research methodologies, including post-purchase surveys, customer reviews, social listening, and competitor creative analysis.
Experience using AI and automation to improve creative research, reporting, and operational processes.
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
You'll be a strong fit if you're someone who:
Thinks like a growth leader, not just a creative strategist.
Understands that great creative must ultimately translate into measurable business outcomes.
Can confidently challenge creative decisions and explain what should change and why.
Enjoys developing people, improving systems, and raising the performance standards of an entire creative organization.
Knows how to distinguish genuinely innovative concepts from minor variations of existing ads.
Can operate strategically while remaining close enough to execution to influence quality.
Is comfortable taking ownership of results in a fast-moving, high-expectation environment.
Why This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to shape the performance creative function of a well-established, rapidly evolving consumer brand operating at significant scale.
You'll have the chance to influence acquisition strategy across multiple products, work alongside experienced Growth leadership, guide internal and external creative resources, and build systems that directly contribute to the company's next stage of expansion.
