About Rouge Care
Rouge Care is a premium red light therapy company building the future of health technology through clinically inspired wellness devices, software, and design. We're looking for a Head of Product to turn a strong product vision into a shipped, profitable roadmap across hardware, accessories, and software.
Role Overview
The Head of Product owns the product function at Rouge Care: the roadmap, the development process, the quality bar, and the launches. Our CEO is the product visionary and will stay deeply involved in where the product line goes; your job is to make that vision real — on spec, on time, on margin — and to run the function so it no longer depends on the founder's calendar. You'll manage a small internal product team and coordinate an external layer: an industrial design studio in Europe, engineering and manufacturing partners in Asia, and software development.
This is physical product at premium positioning. Our devices are clinically inspired wellness hardware with a multi-year life, and customers upgrade when a new generation earns it. That puts two things on you at once: an uncompromising quality bar (returns, defects, and reliability are brand issues, not support issues) and a launch cadence that keeps the line alive — new generations, accessories and stands, consumables, software features, and commercial variants for B2B customers.
You'll be measured on the health of the pipeline (launches on time, share of revenue from products launched in the last 18 months) and on quality (return and defect rates). You sit on the leadership team, and we run on EOS — weekly Level 10, quarterly Rocks, a scorecard.
Reports directly to the COO.
What You'll Own
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Translate the CEO's product vision into a prioritized, sequenced roadmap with clear business cases — margin, landed cost, working capital, and launch timing all accounted for..
• Stay ahead of the category: the science of red light therapy, competitor devices, component and manufacturing trends, and what customers are asking for..
• Own pricing and packaging decisions for the line with Marketing and Finance — panels, stands, accessories, bundles, and commercial devices..
Hardware Development
• Run development from concept to mass production: industrial design with our design studio, engineering, DFM, sampling, tooling, and pilot runs..
• Own the manufacturer and supplier relationships — specs, BOM cost, lead times, and the negotiation that keeps margin intact as the line evolves..
• Coordinate with Operations on production planning, inbound timing, and inventory so launches never outrun supply..
Software & Ecosystem
• Own the connected experience — app, firmware, and the digital features that make the hardware more valuable over time..
• Manage the software development partners or team, the release cadence, and the integration between device, app, and the customer's experience..
• Build the ecosystem roadmap so software and accessories become the between-generation revenue engine..
Quality, Compliance & Safety
• Set and enforce the quality standard: factory QA, inspection protocols, incoming inspection with our 3PLs, and a defect analysis loop with Customer Success..
• Own certifications and regulatory compliance in every market we sell in — electrical safety, EMC, and health/wellness device requirements as applicable — and keep claims defensible..
• Own warranty policy, RMA process design, and product documentation so quality is systematic, not reactive..
Launch & Lifecycle Management
• Run launch readiness end to end with Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success: positioning inputs, spec sheets, manuals, training, and timing..
• Manage the lifecycle of every SKU — transitions between generations, end-of-life planning, SKU rationalization, and the trade-up path for existing customers..
• Run a post-launch review on every release so each generation ships better than the last..
What We're Looking For
• 7+ years in product management or product development, with at least 3 years leading the function, in consumer hardware or connected devices — wellness, health-tech, beauty devices, or fitness equipment is ideal..
• You have shipped physical products from concept through mass production with overseas manufacturing partners and can speak fluently about DFM, tooling, QC, and BOM cost..
• Comfortable with the science and the regulatory landscape of light therapy or comparable wellness devices — or able to get there fast..
• Experience coordinating software or app development alongside hardware..
• A commercial mind: you think in margin, landed cost, inventory, and pricing, not just features..
• A structured operator — roadmaps, stage gates, timelines, documentation — who can run a function without daily founder involvement..
• Works well with a strong, product-obsessed founder: you can take a vision, push back with evidence, and then execute..
• AI-native operator who uses AI tooling to move faster across research, documentation, and analysis..
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, with occasional travel to design and manufacturing partners..
• Bonus: DTC or Shopify experience; wellness or medical device regulatory experience; experience operating inside EOS..
Benefits
• Remote-first work environment.
• 4 weeks vacation.
• 5 personal/sick days.
• Group insurance.
• RRSP matching up to $5,000.
• $500 annual health & wellness flex allowance.
• Legendary Christmas party.
