About Banksia Health
Banksia Health is a growing Australian healthcare group operating across digital healthcare, telehealth and related healthcare services.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Sales & Marketing to lead commercial growth across two key areas:
B2C Patient Growth – acquiring new patients, improving conversion, increasing revenue, reactivating existing patients and improving retention.
B2B Doctor Growth – building our doctor pipeline, improving outreach and acquisition, strengthening partnerships and increasing the number of doctors successfully activated onto our platform.
This is a senior, hands-on commercial role with direct accountability for growth. We are not looking for a traditional brand marketer. We want someone who understands how to generate demand, build pipelines, convert opportunities and scale profitable revenue.
The Role
You will oversee the commercial acquisition funnel across patients and doctors, including:
• B2C patient acquisition
• B2B doctor acquisition
• Sales strategy and execution
• Performance marketing
• Lead generation
• Conversion optimisation
• CRM and automation
• Patient reactivation and retention
• Doctor outreach and partnerships
• Sales team leadership
• Revenue forecasting and reporting
You will work closely with senior management, operations, technology and the Doctor Partnerships team.
B2C Patient Growth
You will take ownership of the patient acquisition and conversion funnel.
Key responsibilities:
• Grow new patient acquisition and revenue.
• Improve lead-to-patient and consult-to-purchase conversion.
• Identify and fix funnel leakage.
• Improve speed-to-lead and follow-up.
• Develop sales scripts and objection-handling frameworks.
• Build abandoned-cart and payment-failure recovery strategies.
• Develop patient reactivation, retention and repeat-purchase campaigns.
• Continually test offers, messaging and conversion processes.
B2B Doctor Growth & Partnerships
You will also take commercial ownership of the doctor acquisition funnel.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop and execute doctor acquisition strategies.
• Build a reliable pipeline of suitable doctors.
• Improve email, telephone and LinkedIn outreach.
• Increase response rates and introductory-call bookings.
• Improve progression from first contact through platform walkthrough and onboarding.
• Work with Doctor Partnerships to improve scripts, follow-up and conversion.
• Identify new sourcing channels, referral opportunities and partnerships.
• Analyse performance by channel.
• Reduce time from first contact to activation.
• Forecast doctor capacity requirements as patient demand grows.
Clinical suitability, registration and compliance decisions remain with the appropriate clinical and compliance functions.
Marketing & Customer Acquisition
You will oversee marketing across both patient and doctor audiences.
Current priority channels include:
Patients:
• Meta
• CRM/email/SMS
• Database reactivation
• Direct response campaigns
Doctors:
• Direct email and telephone outreach
• Recruitment platforms
• Professional networks and referrals
Meta and LinkedIn are important existing channels, but we are not committed to any one channel. You will be expected to identify, test and scale additional channels where commercially justified, including Google Search, SEO, organic content, referral programmes, partnerships, affiliates, professional associations and other paid or emerging channels.
Channel decisions should be based on cost, quality, conversion and commercial return.
Sales Leadership
You will lead and develop our sales function.
Responsibilities include:
• Establish clear individual and team KPIs.
• Drive monthly revenue and conversion targets.
• Review sales calls and provide coaching.
• Improve sales scripts, objection handling and follow-up.
• Improve lead response times and lead allocation.
• Identify underperformance quickly and take corrective action.
• Build a strong performance culture.
• Recruit and develop high-performing salespeople as required.
• Develop scalable sales processes.
• Produce accurate revenue forecasts.
CRM, Automation & Lifecycle Marketing
You will take commercial ownership of how our CRM is used across sales and marketing.
This includes:
• Lead segmentation and scoring
• Automated email and SMS workflows
• Sales follow-up automation
• Patient reactivation
• Doctor outreach automation
• Pipeline and next-action tracking
• Reporting dashboards
• Conversion reporting
• Lifecycle marketing
You will work with internal technology resources to automate repetitive processes wherever practical.
Commercial Metrics
You should be able to clearly explain performance at any time.
B2C metrics include:
• Revenue against target
• New patient acquisition
• Lead volume and cost per lead
• Customer acquisition cost
• Lead-to-consult and consult-to-purchase conversion
• Revenue per lead
• ROAS
• Contribution margin
• Reactivation, retention and customer lifetime value
B2B metrics include:
• Doctors sourced and contacted
• Outreach response rate
• Qualified doctor opportunities
• Introductory calls booked
• Platform walkthrough conversion
• Onboarding conversion
• Doctors activated
• Cost per activated doctor
• Time from first contact to activation
Reporting numbers is not enough. You will be expected to use the data to identify problems, implement changes and improve results.
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
• Senior sales, marketing, growth or commercial leadership experience.
• Strong B2C sales experience.
• Experience managing significant monthly revenue targets.
• Experience in high-volume, relatively short sales-cycle environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing and coaching sales teams.
• Strong performance marketing knowledge.
• Experience managing meaningful advertising budgets.
• Strong CRM and automation experience.
• Experience designing and optimising conversion funnels.
• Strong analytical and commercial ability.
• Strong understanding of CAC, ROAS, LTV and contribution margin.
• A demonstrated record of materially increasing revenue or conversion.
• Experience managing multiple acquisition channels.
Experience in healthcare, telehealth, e-commerce, financial services, insurance, education, subscriptions or another high-volume consumer environment would be advantageous.
B2B acquisition, outbound sales or partnership experience is also highly desirable.
The Type of Person We Want
You are likely to succeed if you:
• Are commercially driven and think in numbers.
• Take ownership of results.
• Move quickly when something is not working.
• Challenge assumptions and test ideas.
• Can coach and hold a sales team accountable.
• Understand both marketing acquisition and sales conversion.
• Can manage both B2C and B2B funnels.
• Prefer measurable outcomes over activity for activity’s sake.
• Build repeatable systems rather than relying on individual effort.
• Are comfortable operating in a fast-moving business.
This is not primarily a branding, communications or social media role.
The mandate is simple:
Generate demand. Build pipelines. Improve conversion. Grow profitable revenue.
Performance Incentives
The role includes a substantial performance-based incentive programme.
At target performance, the incentive is approximately R60,000 per month, with accelerators for materially exceeding agreed targets.
Exceptional performance can generate R120,000+ per month in incentives.
Performance will be assessed across areas including:
• Revenue achievement and growth
• Patient acquisition
• Sales conversion
• Customer acquisition efficiency
• Marketing return
• Contribution margin
• Doctor acquisition and activation
• Sales team performance
• Funnel optimisation
The structure is designed to reward profitable, sustainable growth rather than simply increasing advertising expenditure.
Why Join Banksia Health?
You will have:
• Existing revenue and patient demand
• An established sales operation
• Existing marketing resources
• An existing doctor acquisition function
• CRM and technology infrastructure
• Internal technology support
• Direct access to senior management
• Scope to improve existing systems and test new channels
• Meaningful financial upside for producing results
You will be joining to build, optimise and scale the commercial engine of the business.
