Head of Site Reliability Engineering | Kubernetes, Managed Services, Incident Leadership | Global Software Company, Greenfield Multi-Cloud Platform
- Salary: €130,000 - €150,000 + bonus
- Location: Dublin, 4 days a week on site, 1 day from home
Our client a global software company whose products sit behind mission-critical systems in heavily regulated industries. They're hiring a senior SRE leader in Dublin to run their managed services operation as it moves onto a new, cloud-agnostic Kubernetes (K8s) platform.
This is people leadership rather than coding. You'll lead a globally distributed team of around 15 to 20 across operations and reliability, security and compliance, and customer experience, reporting into the Global Delivery Lead. You'll own the reliability targets, run Severity 1 incidents and front customer escalations.
Non-Negotiables
- 10+ years SRE or cloud operations
- People leadership: 3+ years, globally distributed teams
- Incident command: leading Severity 1 response
- Managed services: reliability and availability at scale
- Regulated environments: compliance and audit demands
- Customer escalations at executive level
What You'll Work With
- Kubernetes: greenfield, cloud and data-centre agnostic
- AWS, Azure and GCP plus private data centres
- GitOps CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Observability, backup, disaster recovery and failover
- Identity, access controls and vulnerability management
- Customer portal and API layer for self-service tenancy and billing
Nice to Haves
- SOC 2 or ISO 27001
- SaaS or multi-cloud managed services
- Budget ownership: tooling and contractor spend
- Scaling teams through rapid headcount growth
Why Join / Projects
The platform is brand new, with nothing in production yet. Product teams ship one container and it runs on any public cloud or in the company's own data centres, with patching, failover and disaster recovery handled at platform level. You'll build the operation around it from the start.
- You'll shape how a fast-growing team is hired and structured
- You'll hold budget authority over tooling and contractors
- You'll see major products move onto the platform over the next couple of years
Employee Benefits
- Private health insurance
- Pension with profit share
- And more.
