For nearly two decades, we’ve been a trusted leader in smart metering and digital solutions, helping businesses and communities make better energy decisions.

Every day we live our values of collaboration, innovation, and delivery, so join us and let’s create a smarter, more sustainable future together.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) come to life across Bluecurrent’s New Zealand operations. As the HSW Partner, you’ll collaborate with leaders, teams, contractors and Field Service Providers to turn HSW requirements into practical, meaningful action, supporting our teams and people. This is a role with plenty of variety and the chance to influence everyday practice.
What success looks like in this role:
- Deliver the Wellbeing Strategy, wellbeing initiatives and Mental Health First Aid governance, helping keep wellbeing activity purposeful and coordinated.
- Keep occupational health and fitness-for-work support moving, including occupational hygiene providers and ergonomic, injury, rehabilitation, drug and alcohol, and fatigue matters.
- Build worker engagement by consulting with people and supporting HSW representatives and committees, while keeping HSW communications clear and consistent.
- Maintain effective HSW foundations, including current procedures, registers, records, training requirements, induction and competency content, and emergency arrangements.
- Support sound risk and incident management through risk assessments, hazard identification, agreed critical controls, incident triage and investigation, action tracking, trend learning, and timely escalation.
- Provide practical HSW advice and coordination, including contractor and Field Service Provider assurance, prioritising legal, privacy and risk matters appropriately.
What you will bring
You’ll be someone who combines sound HSW knowledge with a practical, collaborative approach. You will ideally bring:
- 3+ years in a role with significant HSW responsibilities, with sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and risk management.
- Experience implementing employee wellbeing strategies and mental health work initiatives.
- Experience working with contractors and Field Service Providers; utilities or field services exposure is preferred.
- Clear communication, consultation and coaching skills, with the ability to write practical reports and plan consistent HSW communications.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, recognise when legal, privacy or significant-risk matters need escalation, and handle personal health and fitness-for-work information confidentially.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 and HSW management systems.
- A tertiary HSW qualification is desirable, with investigation, auditing, training or risk qualifications advantageous.
