UPDATE: This position has been filled! East Bay Art Therapy is looking for an Administrative Assistant + Intake Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, compassionate, creative, and passionate about helping people access mental health care. You’ll be one of the first points of contact for new clients, helping them feel welcomed, supported, and connected with the right therapist. 🖥️: Hybrid: 80% remote / 20% in-person 📍Mostly Oakland + occasional SF Bay Area events ⏰: Part-time: 12-15 hours/week, with room for growth 🇪🇸: Spanish bilingual preferred We’re especially looking for someone who brings both strong administrative skills and a genuine understanding of the healing power of the arts. NEW BLOG ALERT! 🚨 🎨 In our latest blog, EBAT Art Therapist Sophia Stutes, MA, AMFT, ATR, reflects on her first year providing art therapy in an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital setting with adolescents and adults. Sophia shares her personal journey into this work, including the fears and stigma she encountered before stepping into the role, and how one year later, she can say, “I am so glad I did.” 🌼 She explores the many ways art therapy can support individuals during times of crisis, from creating opportunities for expression and emotional regulation to fostering play, imagination, curiosity, and connection. 🎨 Creating Connections Through Art! We had such a wonderful time at the Superhero 5K/10K Walk, Run, Roll & 10th Annual Summer Festival, hosted by San Andreas Regional Center (SARC)! Our EBAT team, Tonia (Founder), Lauren, & Nox brought an interactive art therapy booth where participants could get creative, learn more about art therapy, and connect with our team. It was a joy to be part of such a fun and inclusive community celebration! 😃 Did you know? EBAT is a vendor of San Andreas Regional Center, serving the greater South Bay Area community. If you or a loved one is a SARC participant, you can reach out to your Service Coordinator to request individual art therapy services through EBAT. Once authorized, services are provided at no cost to you. Our practice is disability-justice oriented, and our art therapists are trained to work with individuals with a variety of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Nox is our San Jose based art therapist on staff. 📍Our South Bay office is conveniently located near downtown San Jose. Interested in learning more about art therapy services? Meet Yvonne Guan, (She/Her), Bilingual Art Therapy Intern Yvonne is currently enrolled as a second-year student in Pratt Institute’s graduate program in Art Therapy & Creativity Development. She holds bachelor's degrees in Fine Arts and Psychology and has over 10 years of training in the visual arts. She is working towards full professional credentialing in Art Therapy. Yvonne has experience providing individual art therapy sessions & co-facilitating groups. She enjoys working with individuals with adolescents experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, emotion dysregulation, & hypersexuality. Her approach is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and other creative arts approaches. She believes each person has a unique art language and is dedicated to helping clients develop it as a tool for expression and personal growth.
