We’re looking for an HR Generalist who can support our team members and help ensure our HR processes run smoothly. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key HR functions, including benefits administration, payroll support, employment law compliance, and employee relations. You’ll serve as a trusted resource for team members, helping navigate HR-related questions while ensuring our policies and processes are consistent, compliant, and effective. As part of a small, growing company, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving our HR processes and helping create a positive team member experience.
This fully remote role reports to our Director of Operations, and candidates are required to reside in the United States. This role requires legal authorization to work in the United States. EngagedMD is unable to sponsor current H1B visa holders for this role.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for team members, answering questions and providing guidance on company policies and other employment-related matters
Administer employee benefits in partnership with brokers and vendors, including open enrollment, qualifying life events, and resolving benefits-related issues
Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in HR systems and assist the payroll team with payroll adjustments
Manage HR compliance with federal and state employment laws, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, accommodation requests, and leave administration, involving legal counsel when appropriate and making informed recommendations to leadership
Stay current on federal and state employment laws and HR market trends
Coordinate state registrations for our fully-remote organization across multiple jurisdictions, using our existing systems and vendors
Review and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and internal documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Handle day-to-day employee relations matters, supporting team members and managers in addressing workplace concerns, documenting issues and resolutions, and escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
Support performance management, compensation reviews, and employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and feedback analysis
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall team member experience
What You'll Bring
4+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, or a related HR generalist role.
Hands-on experience administering employee benefits, supporting payroll processes, and managing employee relations.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including ADA, FMLA, workers' compensation, and multi-state HR compliance requirements.
Experience supporting performance management processes, including performance reviews, talent assessments, and employee engagement initiatives.
Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms, such as Gusto, Rippling, or ADP, and experience administering performance management tools like Lattice.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage competing priorities and handle sensitive information.
An ability to model EngagedMD’s core values and action principles.
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced organization.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience.
It's Also Nice If You…
Have experience working in a SaaS, healthcare, or technology organization.
Have successfully worked remotely with distributed teams in the past.
