HR Manager - Dublin | Hybrid, 2 Days on site
Overview
My client, a technology business on a strong growth path, is hiring an HR Manager to lead its people function. The role owns HR strategy, systems and compliance, so that the way the business hires, manages and develops people keeps pace as it scales across several countries.
What’s on offer
- Hybrid, 2 days a week in a Dublin city centre office
- €70,000 to €80,000 + bonus
- Fully funded healthcare and a matched pension
- Generous annual leave with the flexibility to take public holidays when it suits you, plus a birthday day off
- Flexible start times
About the business
They're a technology business with a base in Dublin and employees in several countries. It is scaling steadily and is building a people function that can grow alongside it.
The role
This is a manager-level position with broad ownership of the HR agenda, working alongside a Senior HR Generalist whose development you’ll lead. HR is a team of two, so this is a hands-on role that combines setting direction with doing the work day to day, sharing the workload with the Senior HR Generalist according to strengths and interests. You’ll partner closely with the leadership team and line managers throughout the organisation. The remit spans employees in Ireland, the UK and elsewhere in Europe, as well as international staff engaged through Employer of Record providers, so comfort working across several employment law frameworks at once is central to the job.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading succession and workforce planning, along with the organisational design that lets the business grow without losing its shape
- Building people reporting that tracks turnover, hiring and performance, and turning it into regular, data-led insight for the leadership team
- Introducing a talent framework and a performance process that is applied fairly and evenly in every team
- Choosing and rolling out a new HRIS that brings HR technology onto one platform, so routine tasks are automated, managers and employees can serve themselves, and reporting comes from one place
- Owning employment law compliance across Ireland, the UK and Europe, including GDPR and readiness for the EU Pay Transparency Directive, and putting dependable external legal advice in place
- Shaping the benefits offering, from choosing providers and communicating it to staff to tracking whether it delivers value
- Overseeing Employer of Record providers so international employees are paid and covered accurately
- Advising on employee relations under Irish and UK law, running investigations, grievance and disciplinary cases from start to finish, and stepping in early, including through mediation, when conflict arises
- Coaching managers to resolve everyday people issues themselves
- Working with managers on headcount plans, overseeing a structured, competency-based hiring process, and raising early warnings when hiring capacity falls short of the plan
- Setting the direction for onboarding with your Senior HR Generalist, and building a learning and development approach that fits a scaling business, including closing gaps in product knowledge
- Giving your Senior HR Generalist a clear development path, with hands-on exposure to ER cases and strategic projects
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- A degree in HR management, business or a related field
- HR experience gained within a business going through rapid scaling
- Having led an HRIS project yourself, from choosing the system through to full rollout
- Detailed working knowledge of Irish employment law and GDPR, covering legislation such as the Unfair Dismissals Act and Employment Equality legislation
- Experience handling employment compliance in Ireland plus one or more other European countries
- Experience managing ER casework under both Irish and UK law
- Confidence using HR analytics to produce reporting senior leaders can act on
- Experience shaping HR plans around commercial goals and showing their impact on results
Desirable:
- CIPD qualified to Level 7, or holding an equivalent qualification
- Working knowledge of what the EU Pay Transparency Directive requires of employers
- Practical use of AI tools in day-to-day HR work
