About Zama

Zama is an open-source cryptography company building state-of-the-art FHE solutions for blockchain.

Zama’s Fully Homomorphic Encryption protocol is a cryptography milestone. By enabling efficient, developer-friendly FHE, Zama unlocks secure, compliant, and verifiable dApps for AI, crypto, and cloud. We believe people shouldn’t have to care about privacy—not because privacy doesn’t matter, but because it shouldn’t be an issue.

We are a remote-friendly company with headquarters in the center of Paris.

We are on the lookout for an HR Manager to secure and scale our employment practices in France and Switzerland while running the people operations of a fast-growing, international team.

Reporting to the COO/DG, you will work closely with our Operations, Finance, Legal, and management teams to give every employee a consistent, positive experience, built on solid legal foundations.

Key Responsibilities

Employment Law & HR Compliance (France & Switzerland)

  • Draft and keep up to date our French employment contracts and amendments, applying French labour law and the Syntec collective agreement with the support of our Legal department.

  • Own the complete employee lifecycle from hiring and onboarding to offboarding: trial periods, mandatory formalities, and every type of exit (resignation, mutual termination, dismissal), in compliance with local regulations.

  • Handle URSSAF audits in France and social security audits in Switzerland.

  • Draft and maintain the Règlement intérieur and our HR policies.

  • Organise CSE elections (including the pre-election agreement) and manage relations with the CSE.

  • Manage Employers of Record (EORs) via Deel and generate contractor agreements from our existing templates.

HR Administration & Operations

  • Run day-to-day HR administration: employee records, HR documentation and data accuracy across our HR systems, including Deel, in line with GDPR.

  • Coordinate with external payroll providers and Finance for accurate, timely payroll, and track leave, absences and benefits.

  • Support HR operations across countries, working with local providers and EORs.

  • Maintain HR reporting (headcount, movements, leave) and support workforce planning and HR budget tracking with Finance.

Employee Experience & Recruitment Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR questions, policies and benefits, and support managers on routine HR procedures, escalating sensitive matters when appropriate.

  • Coordinate onboarding logistics, performance and probation reviews, recruitment steps (scheduling, candidate communications, offer preparation) and engagement initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve our HR processes.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 to 7+ years as an HR generalist or HR Manager in France, ideally in a Syntec company with foreign subsidiaries.

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) in HR or French employment law (droit social).

  • Strong knowledge of French labour law and the Syntec collective agreement, with experience drafting employment contracts, the Règlement intérieur and HR policies.

  • Command of the legal aspects of the employee lifecycle in France, from hiring to termination procedures, with working knowledge of Swiss employment law (or willingness to learn).

  • Experience handling URSSAF audits, organising CSE elections and managing CSE relations.

  • Experience managing EORs and contractor agreements via Deel, and coordinating payroll.

  • Excellent communication skills, discretion with confidential information, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Fluency in French and English, written and spoken.

  • Bonus points for hands-on Swiss employment experience and UK exposure.
