Symetra is seeking an HR Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team!
About the role
In this role, you’ll manage full-cycle recruiting, keep searches on track, and ensure candidates and hiring teams stay informed. You’ll partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, guide hiring decisions, and provide a responsive candidate experience.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys building relationships and managing detailed processes. Strong organization, accurate documentation, and consistent follow-through are essential. Experience in the insurance industry is highly preferred.
What you will do
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, define selection criteria, and develop targeted recruiting strategies.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offers, and the transition to onboarding.
- Keep multiple searches organized by tracking candidate progress, deadlines, approvals, and next steps.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in recruiting systems and follow established processes and documentation requirements.
- Guide hiring managers through structured, job-related candidate evaluations that support fair and consistent hiring decisions.
- Communicate proactively with candidates and hiring teams, providing clear updates and timely follow-through.
- Contribute to recruiting projects and process improvements that strengthen efficiency and the candidate experience.

Compensation
Salary Range: $72,700 - $121,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who You Are
- You bring 3+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR, including hands-on recruiting experience and responsibility for managing detailed processes, stakeholder relationships, and competing deadlines.
- Insurance industry experience is highly preferred, particularly experience recruiting for actuarial, underwriting or financial functions.
- You keep complex work organized, with a reliable approach to tracking priorities, approvals, commitments, and follow-up.
- You demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, recruiting system updates, and communications.
- You take ownership of your work, anticipate potential delays, and resolve issues before they disrupt the hiring process.
- You understand hiring managers’ needs and translate them into practical recruiting recommendations and job-related selection criteria.
- You communicate clearly, build trust, and navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and discretion.
- You work collaboratively, welcome feedback, and support inclusive, consistent hiring practices.
- High school diploma required.
