Job Title: HR Representative

Monthly Pay: $4,700 - $5,754 USD per month

Summary:

This role sits within an HR team guided by an HR team lead and works closely with employees, new hires, hiring managers, and onboarding coordinators. The HR Representative answers routine employee questions, communicates onboarding steps, and helps people find accurate information about workplace processes. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor a shared HR email queue for employee inquiries and onboarding questions, identifying the request topic and checking whether earlier correspondence provides useful context.
  • Respond directly to routine questions about orientation, employee resources, internal contacts, and standard HR procedures using approved reference materials and clear, courteous language.
  • Check onboarding progress in a HR system such as BambooHR, confirming completed activities and identifying outstanding steps before communicating the next action.
  • Enter accurate inquiry notes and onboarding status updates in the HR system, keeping entries factual, concise, and accessible only to appropriate team members.
  • Organize orientation invitations through a scheduling and calendar tool such as Google Calendar, checking participant availability and confirming meeting details with onboarding coordinators.
  • Explain how employees can navigate self-service resources and locate instructions, checking their understanding without making decisions outside the representative's assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow up with new hires and hiring managers when onboarding activities remain incomplete, clarifying ownership and updating the HR team on unresolved delays.
  • Escalate sensitive employee concerns, conflicting information, or questions beyond standard guidance to the HR team lead, summarizing the issue and previous actions.
  • Keep employees informed when an inquiry needs additional review, communicate the next expected update, and confirm that the response addresses their original question.
  • Maintain service quality through accurate answers, timely turnaround, complete notes, and consistent follow-up, using feedback from the HR team lead to improve responses.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required; related experience in HR support, employee assistance, or administrative customer service is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of employee onboarding, orientation activities, and the role of HR in supporting employees throughout everyday workplace processes.
  • Willingness to learn a HR system such as BambooHR and follow established instructions for checking progress and updating inquiry notes.
  • Comfort using a scheduling and calendar tool such as Google Calendar to coordinate invitations, check availability, and communicate changes accurately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain routine steps patiently and distinguish confirmed information from questions needing review.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential employee information, maintaining discretion and routing sensitive concerns to the HR team lead.
  • A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace, with availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote work from home in Minnesota, with daily collaboration centered on employee support and organized onboarding.
  • Structured onboarding and training on a HR system such as BambooHR and a scheduling and calendar tool such as Google Calendar.
  • Regular check-ins with the HR team lead to review questions, discuss priorities, and receive practical feedback.
  • Opportunities to build employee communication, onboarding coordination, HR systems navigation, and confidential information handling skills.
  • Health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), maternity leave, and stipends.
