A career in IBM Consulting is built on long-term client relationships and close collaboration worldwide. You'll work with leading companies across industries, helping them shape their hybrid cloud and AI journeys. With support from our strategic partners, robust IBM technology, and Red Hat, you'll have the tools to drive meaningful change and accelerate client impact. At IBM Consulting, curiosity fuels success. You'll be encouraged to challenge the norm, explore new ideas, and create innovative solutions that deliver real results. Our culture of growth and empathy focuses on your long-term career development while valuing your unique skills and experiences. We are seeking a client-facing HR Transformation Consultant to lead defined transformation initiatives and workstreams across our business process outsourcing (BPO) and business operations services environment. The role will partner with clients, HR operations leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve HR service delivery, reduce manual work, strengthen employee and candidate experience, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The successful candidate will bring strong HR process expertise and a practical transformation mindset. You will assess current HR processes, analyze operational performance, develop future-state recommendations, and support the implementation of process, technology, automation, AI, analytics, workflow, and self-service solutions. This role is strategic and client-facing, while remaining hands-on in delivery. It is accountable for leading assigned projects or workstreams from discovery through implementation, adoption, and benefits tracking. The role supports HR transformation across areas such as talent acquisition, onboarding, employee services, workforce administration, learning, and talent management. The wider BPO environment supports a portfolio of HR and other business operations services. Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR transformation projects and defined workstreams, from assessment and solution design through implementation, adoption, and benefits realization.
- Partner with client stakeholders and operational leaders to understand business priorities, service challenges, process pain points, and transformation opportunities.
- Assess current-state HR processes, including workflows, handoffs, systems, controls, service requirements, performance measures, and employee or candidate experience.
- Facilitate client workshops, process-design sessions, requirements-gathering discussions, solution reviews, and operational-readiness activities.
- Develop future-state process maps, gap assessments, improvement recommendations, implementation plans, and supporting business cases.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, digitize, automate, or redesign HR processes to reduce manual effort, rework, process variation, and delays.
- Assess opportunities to use AI, automation, workflow tools, self-service, analytics, and HR technology to improve efficiency, scalability, service quality, and user experience.
- Analyze operational data, stakeholder feedback, service levels, cycle times, quality results, volumes, and recurring issues to identify root causes and prioritize improvements.
- Manage workstream scope, project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and stakeholder actions.
- Present findings, options, recommendations, progress updates, risks, and expected outcomes clearly to client and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with HR operations, technology, data, change, compliance, and delivery teams to translate recommendations into implementable solutions.
- Support solution testing, process validation, implementation planning, training, communications, transition activities, and post-implementation reviews.
- Define and monitor transformation measures, including processing time, quality, accuracy, service levels, manual effort, automation rate, adoption, employee experience, and client outcomes.
- Track agreed actions and benefits through completion, escalating significant delivery risks or issues where appropriate.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives and document reusable approaches, lessons learned, and successful practices across delivery teams.
- Ensure transformation initiatives align with client policies, service-level commitments, operational controls, security requirements, data privacy requirements, and BPO delivery standards.
- Experience in HR transformation, HR operations, business transformation, process improvement, management consulting, business analysis, project management, or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of one or more HR process areas, such as talent acquisition, onboarding, employee services, HR administration, learning, workforce administration, or talent management.
- Demonstrated experience leading process-improvement, transformation, technology, or operational-change projects or workstreams.
- Experience working directly with clients, business leaders, or senior operational stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate discussions, present recommendations, and manage delivery expectations.
- Experience using process mapping, root-cause analysis, operational data, performance insights, and stakeholder feedback to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Experience in a BPO environment is preferred, particularly in HR operations, shared services, high-volume service delivery, outsourced operations, or client-facing transformation programs.
- Familiarity with HR platforms, workflow tools, automation, AI, analytics, self-service, or digital transformation initiatives is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Core Competencies
- Client advisory and stakeholder influence: Builds trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, translates business needs into actionable transformation opportunities, and communicates recommendations clearly.
- HR process transformation: Applies knowledge of end-to-end HR processes, service delivery, controls, and operating requirements to develop practical improvements.
- Process improvement: Identifies root causes, eliminates unnecessary manual work and rework, and designs sustainable future-state workflows.
- Technology enablement: Recognizes where AI, automation, analytics, workflow, self-service, and HR platforms can create meaningful business and service value.
- Data-driven insight: Uses process and performance data to identify trends, prioritize initiatives, and measure transformation outcomes—consistent with a focus on practical, measurable improvement.
- Project and workstream leadership: Manages scope, plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder actions to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Change and adoption: Supports teams and clients through new processes, technologies, and ways of working.
- Continuous improvement: Converts findings into practical actions and tracks improvements through to sustained results.
