People Advisor - Creative Organisation
Central London | £40,000 + benefits | 18-month FTC | 3 days On-Site + 2 days WFH
An established and much-loved name in the UK’s creative world is looking for a People Advisor to join its team for an 18-month contract. It’s an opportunity to work in a genuinely interesting environment, supporting a diverse mix of teams and managers and helping create the right conditions for people to do their best work.
This is a hands-on, relationship-led HR role for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of people challenges, finding practical solutions and building managers’ confidence along the way. You’ll be a trusted partner across the organisation, bringing sound judgement, a calm head and a thoughtful approach to everything from sensitive employee relations matters to organisational change.
A big part of the role will be helping managers navigate the more challenging aspects of people management. You’ll advise on disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence, support investigations and coach managers through difficult conversations. You’ll also play an important role in restructures, consultation and redundancy processes, helping ensure these are handled fairly, sensitively and in line with employment legislation.
Alongside the day-to-day HR advisory work, you’ll provide guidance on HR policies, family leave and employment law, while looking for opportunities to strengthen management capability and improve the employee experience. Building relationships is key; you’ll need to be approachable and credible, able to challenge when needed and comfortable working with people at different levels across a varied organisation.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys the variety that comes with a broad generalist role and is confident dealing with complex or sensitive situations. You’ll bring solid employee relations experience, a good grounding in UK employment law and a proven track record of supporting managers through investigations, formal processes and organisational change, including restructures and redundancies.
Just as importantly, you’ll be pragmatic, personable and solutions-focused. Someone who can balance empathy with sound commercial judgement, explain the detail without overcomplicating things and help managers feel equipped to deal with issues themselves.
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience is expected, and experience in a unionised environment would be useful.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a tangible difference, work with interesting people and bring a thoughtful, practical approach to HR in a creative organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
