We are looking for an experienced engineer who can lead technical scope, resolve diverse issues, and help develop less-experienced engineers.
As a Senior I&C Systems Engineer, you will independently lead systems engineering and technical integration activities for nuclear I&C projects. You will coordinate across engineering disciplines, organizations, platforms, and subsystems to maintain technical agreement throughout the project lifecycle.
You will lead defined systems engineering workstreams, resolve technical issues, review engineering products, and provide guidance to developing engineers.
You will report to the Manager, GIC Systems Engineering and work from Czech Republic.
This position will transition to a permanent work location in the Brno metropolitan area as the project progresses.
Model of work: hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead systems engineering activities for assigned systems, subsystems, project workstreams, or lifecycle phases.
- Lead development, decomposition, allocation, analysis, and validation of technical requirements.
- Facilitate diverse activities to establish partner needs, functions, interfaces, assumptions, constraints, and acceptance criteria.

- Resolve cross-discipline requirements and design conflicts.
- Coordinate interfaces among I&C subsystems and other plant systems.
- Maintain traceability among requirements, design outputs, engineering changes, and verification evidence.
- Evaluate engineering changes for impacts on requirements, interfaces, architecture, configuration, and verification.
- Lead selected design-integration and verification activities.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation recommendations.
- Develop and evaluate alternatives for resolving complex engineering issues.
- Review systems engineering products prepared by other engineers.
- Coach and provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers.
- Work with project organizations, customers, suppliers, and engineering disciplines on assigned technical matters.
- Support development of technical scopes, schedules, estimates, and proposals.
- Improve systems engineering methods, tools, templates, and processes.
- Support customer, quality, licensing, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, or another engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with complex technical systems.
- Demonstrated expertise leading systems engineering activities.
- Experience coordinating technical activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Experience resolve many-sided engineering problems.
- Experience reviewing engineering products for technical quality and completeness.
- Experience guiding and supporting less-experienced engineers.
- Experience communicating technical issues, alternatives, and recommendations to project partners.
Meritorious qualifications
- Nuclear industry experience.
- Digital I&C modernization or new-plant I&C experience.
- System architecture and interface-management experience.
- Verification and validation experience.
- Design-integration or technical-coordination experience.
- Engineer-in-Training certification or Professional Engineer license.
