Role Title: ILS Practitioner
Amentum is seeking an experienced and motivated Defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Practitioner to support the acquisition, introduction into service and sustainment of complex maritime systems and equipment.
Working within Defence policy and logistics frameworks, you will deliver the logistics support outcomes required to introduce capability into service and transition it into enduring sustainment.
About the Role:
As an ILS Practitioner, you will deliver moderately complex ILS activities with limited guidance, applying sound judgement, initiative and established logistics-support principles.
Working within a Commonwealth-led project team, you will coordinate with Defence stakeholders, project personnel, logistics organisations, military units and industry partners to ensure assigned ILS deliverables support capability, introduction-into-service and sustainment requirements.
The role requires practical experience in Defence materiel logistics, including codification, cataloguing, logistics-system transactions, provisioning, entitlements and supply and repair arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage all assigned ILS deliverables, including NATO codification and Defence cataloguing of Items of Supply (IoS) within mandated Logistics Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Identify supplier and repair pipelines and, where required, provide ILS support to commercial personnel in establishing through-life support contracts and sustainment arrangements.
- Develop, review and update ILS and supporting technical documentation required for the introduction into service and sustainment of products, including equipment schedules and repair-parts schedules.
- Use authorised LIMS to undertake the transactions and functions required to introduce products and parts into service and issue them in accordance with directed unit entitlements.
- Develop and submit entitlement documentation supporting military business units direction-of-issue and basis-of-provisioning processes for user units.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Defence project and business units, military units, Army Headquarters, project teams, Joint Logistics Command business units and industry partners.
- Act as the lead point of contact for the management and coordination of assigned ILS activities and deliverables.
- Participate in project, logistics and stakeholder meetings to coordinate ILS activities, manage dependencies and support the timely completion of assigned deliverables.
- Prepare, contribute to and review ILS management reports, plans and supporting artefacts.
- Participate in ILS acceptance testing, review ILS-related test results and provide recommendations on the acceptability of outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated Defence ILS experience supporting capability acquisition, introduction into service and sustainment.
- Sound understanding and demonstrated experience of Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) requirements.
- Practical experience with NATO codification, Defence cataloguing, IoS and materiel master data.
- Experience performing Defence logistics-system transactions supporting provisioning and the issue of equipment and spare parts, preferably within ERP.
- Experience identifying supplier, supply and repair pipelines and contributing to through-life support arrangements.
- Ability to manage multiple ILS deliverables and coordinate Defence, project and industry stakeholders with limited guidance.
- Experience with Defence SAP or S/4HANA, FEDLOG, MCCAT, Objective, LIMS or related Defence logistics systems.
- Current NV1 Australian Government security clearance.
- Ability to satisfy applicable export-control and third-party retransfer requirements.
