Title: Immigration Lawyer

Time: Full-Time (Eastern Time hours)

Location: Canada-based (Remote; must be based in or willing to relocate to the Montreal, QC area) Compensation: CA$100,000 - CA$200,000/year

The firm assists clients from around the world across a broad range of Canadian immigration and citizenship matters and is embracing modern technology and AI to enhance legal workflows and client service.


Role Overview

Our client is seeking Canadian Immigration Lawyers across various seniority levels, from mid-level practitioners through to managing attorney or partner-level professionals. This is a broad hiring initiative rather than a single narrowly defined vacancy. The firm is interested in meeting strong immigration lawyers and shaping responsibilities around the right candidates based on their experience, strengths, and career goals. The ideal candidate will have direct experience practising Canadian immigration law, a broad understanding of Canadian immigration programs, and genuine curiosity about the use of AI and technology within legal practice. Depending on seniority and fit, there may also be opportunities to take on leadership or management responsibilities as the firm continues to grow and evolve.


Key Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of Canadian immigration matters, including Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), Family Sponsorship, Work Permits, Inadmissibility, and other immigration and citizenship matters.

• Advise and represent clients throughout complex Canadian immigration and citizenship processes.

• Manage immigration matters across a diverse portfolio while maintaining high standards of legal accuracy and client service.

• Explore and leverage AI and technology tools to improve legal workflows, efficiency, and service delivery.

• Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders as the firm continues its growth and transformation.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of legal processes and client-service practices.

• Take on leadership, management, or broader practice responsibilities depending on experience and fit.


Qualifications

• Law degree and current licence to practise law in Canada.

• 3 - 15 years of professional experience practising Canadian immigration law.

• Direct Canadian immigration law experience within a law firm environment.

• Substantive knowledge of Canadian immigration programs, including Express Entry, PNPs, Work Permits, Family Sponsorship, and related immigration pathways.

• Genuine interest in AI and its potential applications within legal practice and client service.

• Ability to work effectively across a broad portfolio of Canadian immigration matters.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the flexibility to work in an evolving environment where responsibilities may develop over time.

• Must be authorized to work in Canada without requiring visa sponsorship.

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Montreal, Quebec area.


Nice to Have

• Experience handling criminal inadmissibility matters.

• For senior candidates: Partner-level, managing lawyer, or similar experience overseeing attorneys and a portfolio of immigration matters.

• For mid-level candidates: Strong independent immigration law experience with the potential and interest to grow into a leadership or managing attorney position.
