Build solutions. Work with customers. Grow into technical pre-sales.

Docbyte is looking for an Implementation Consultant to help customers and partners configure and connect Docbyte Vault to their existing systems.

This role is designed for someone who wants more than a purely technical delivery position. You will start with hands-on implementation work, supported by the team, and grow toward a role that combines customer delivery, solution design and technical pre-sales.

We are open to both a strong junior candidate who is ready to learn quickly and a medior consultant with experience in customer-facing migration or integration projects.

What you will do

You will gradually take responsibility for:

  • Configuring Docbyte Vault for customer use cases;
  • Understanding customer systems, data flows and integration requirements;
  • Building and configuring migration flows;
  • Preparing and supporting migration activities;
  • Analysing problems, documenting solutions and troubleshooting issues;
  • Using AI tools to work faster on analysis, configuration, documentation and execution, while checking the result with sound technical judgement; and
  • Working closely with a senior consultant during your onboarding and first deliveries.

Customer contact starts early, with internal training and test sessions first. As your delivery foundation grows, you will join customer calls and build toward confident, direct communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your path into technical pre-sales

As you gain experience, the role expands into technical pre-sales support. Together with a salesperson, you will:

  • Understand and structure customer needs;
  • Support discovery and requirements discussions;
  • Help prepare and deliver demonstrations;
  • Shape a practical technical solution;
  • Provide clear technical input for proposals and quotations; and
  • Help customers understand how the proposed solution fits their situation.

  • What success looks like

    The ramp-up is ambitious, but you will receive technical training and close support from the team.

    After approximately one month, you should be able to support a Docbyte Vault configuration, a migration configuration and migration preparation.

    After six months, you should be able to work alongside a salesperson in technical pre-sales: structuring a customer need, supporting or delivering a relevant demo, shaping the solution, preparing technical input for an offer and participating confidently in customer discussions.

    After one year, success means becoming a reliable technical pre-sales partner who helps the sales team win customer projects, not simply counting the number of implementations delivered.

    What you bring

    Required

    • A completed degree in informatics, computer science or a closely related field.
    • A sound understanding of APIs and integrations.
    • Basic understanding of databases.
    • Practical fluency with current AI tools and the judgement to validate their output.
    • Professional Dutch and English.
    • The resilience to stay composed when a customer discussion or technical problem becomes demanding.
    • Clear, structured communication and disciplined execution.
    • The curiosity to learn unfamiliar technology and understand how customer systems work.

    Useful, but not required from day one

    • Experience with Java.
    • Experience with cloud technologies.
    • Experience with Docbyte Vault.

    For a medior candidate, we expect demonstrable customer contact and experience in migration, consulting, integration or a comparable delivery environment.

    For a junior candidate, previous migration or customer experience is not required. We will look for evidence of potential through internships, personal projects, communication, AI capability, learning speed and the maturity to grow into customer-facing work.

    Why this role

    You will combine technical work, customer interaction and commercial impact. You will learn by doing, work closely with experienced consultants and use AI as a practical part of your day-to-day work. The role gives you a clear path from implementation delivery to technical pre-sales support for projects with large international enterprises.

    Customer work is predominantly remote, while the role is based mainly at Docbyte's headquarters in Ghent. The hybrid baseline is three office days per week, with an expectation of approximately three to five office days depending on the work and team needs. On-site customer visits are expected roughly once per month. Overnight stays and business travel are rare.

    Interested?

    If you enjoy understanding how systems work, explaining technical choices clearly and helping turn customer needs into workable solutions, we would like to hear from you.

    Apply with your CV and a short explanation of the kind of implementation or technical problem you would like to work on. Preferably, you send your CV to recruitment@docbyte.com.

    (That way, we also know that you actually read the jobpost).
