The Role: Industrial Project Leader
Location: Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia

Company: Schneider Electric
We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Industrial Project Leader to lead complex manufacturing projects from initial planning through implementation and closure.
In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional project teams, establish detailed project plans, and manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and performance. You will work closely with delivery and receiving plants, Lines of Business, global deployment teams, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, competitively, on time, and within budget.
This role is ideal for an experienced project leader who combines strong manufacturing project management capabilities with a solid background in procurement and stakeholder management.
What will you do?
End-to-End Project Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of manufacturing and industrial projects.
- Establish clear project objectives, scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and success criteria.
- Ensure project execution remains aligned with strategic priorities and expected business outcomes.
- Drive projects through the complete stage-gate process, including Open, Select, Do, Implement, Produce, Sell, and Close.
- Maintain accountability across the project team and ensure agreed actions are completed on time.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate project activities across functions and manufacturing locations.
- Monitor project timelines and proactively address potential delays or resource constraints.
- Balance project scope, cost, quality, and timing to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed according to agreed expectations and milestones.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management
- Collaborate with delivery plants, receiving plants, Lines of Business, global deployment teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Facilitate alignment on project scope, priorities, deliverables, and responsibilities.
- Lead regular project meetings and communicate progress, challenges, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Build strong stakeholder engagement and maintain clear accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalate critical issues to the appropriate decision-makers to remove barriers and maintain project momentum.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Apply procurement expertise to support sourcing, investment, cost, and supplier-related project activities.
- Collaborate with Procurement and relevant stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and delivered.
- Monitor procurement-related dependencies that could affect project cost, quality, or timing.
- Identify supplier or sourcing risks and coordinate mitigation and escalation actions.
- Support commercially sound project decisions while maintaining alignment with technical and operational requirements.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
- Proactively identify potential project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
- Develop and monitor mitigation and recovery plans to protect project objectives.
- Drive structured escalation when issues require higher-level intervention or decision-making.
- Assess the impact of project changes on scope, schedule, cost, resources, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain visibility of key risks and ensure stakeholders understand the required actions and decisions.
Project Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and monitor project performance metrics.
- Use project data to evaluate progress, identify performance gaps, and support informed decision-making.
- Provide regular and transparent updates on project status, challenges, actions, and outcomes.
- Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities to improve project execution.
- Promote effective project governance and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.
- Embed quality and safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational discipline.
- Ensure project solutions support manufacturing competitiveness and sustainable performance.
What qualifications will make you successful?
