You are coached weekly and measured on pipeline created and business closed.
Our Minneapolis office operates on a hybrid model, with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At this time, we’re only considering local candidates.
Why This Role Matters
The Inside Sale Representative will sell Vertical Insure policies directly to customers, building the traction that helps the team work with software platforms and you activate customers on partner platforms who have not yet turned Vertical Insure on. You are coached weekly and measured on pipeline created and business closed.
What You'll Do
Close new clients and activate existing ones
- Cold outbound to new potential clients
- Warm outbound to current clients of partners
- Adjust your approach to each: cold prospects need education and credibility, warm ones need a clear reason and a simple path to use Vertical Insure
Build pipeline and book meetings
- Prospect into target accounts in your vertical by phone, email, LinkedIn and other channels, including cold calls to people who have never heard of Vertical Insure
- Respond quickly to inbound leads, qualify them and book discovery meetings
- Run and test sequences, call scripts and messaging with guidance from your manager, Marketing and Sales Enablement
- Meet your goals for activations and winning new business
Qualify and close
- Run discovery conversations to confirm fit, need, timing and decision-makers
- Handle early objections and keep prospects engaged until the business is closed
- Keep the AE updated on customers you have landed, what you are hearing from them and who the key contacts are, so the AE can use that traction in platform negotiations
Partner with CDRs and AEs
- Work closely with the CDR in your vertical, to review target accounts, pipeline and next steps, and align with the AE on which platforms' customers to target
- Follow the team's rules for handoffs, ownership and follow-up so no account or lead falls through the cracks
Know your vertical
- Learn your vertical's customers, competitors, buying cycle and value story
- Use that knowledge to tailor outreach and discovery conversations
- Share what you hear from prospects with your manager so it reaches Product, Marketing and Partnerships
Keep the data and tools clean
- Log every activity, lead status and opportunity in the CRM (HubSpot) accurately and on time
- Use the sequencing, dialer and data tools to work efficiently and report your results
- Take part in weekly 1:1s, call reviews and deal coaching, and apply the feedback
Who You Are
- 1+ years in B2B sales, SDR, BDR or a similar outbound lead-generation role
- A record of meeting or beating targets for activity, pipeline or closed business
- Clear, confident communication by phone, email and video, including comfort with high-volume cold calling and handling rejection
- Curiosity and persistence: you can research an account, find the right contact and keep a conversation going
- Estimated travel is 10%, typically consisting of 1–2 regional/national trips per quarter for team meetings and client visits.
- Comfort with data: you track your own numbers and act on them
- Hands-on experience with a CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) and sales engagement tools
- Openness to coaching: you take feedback and apply it the same day
Experience That Goes the Extra Mile
- Experience selling to software platforms, SaaS partners or through embedded and partner channels
- Background in insurance, insurtech or fintech
- Insurance producer licensing is a plus
- Experience selling into sports, fitness, events, travel, construction, property management, or education markets
- Ability to leverage AI
