ABOUT INSPECTED
Inspected is a fast-growing, tech-enabled construction technology company revolutionizing remote inspections and permitting for the construction industry. We replace in-person inspections with fast, compliant, remote inspections that help contractors and builders move projects forward without delays. We serve homebuilders and HVAC, solar, roofing, pool, and commercial and residential contractors across Florida, Texas, and Tennessee — with new markets coming soon.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inspector I is responsible for conducting remote residential inspections using digital tools, video, photos, and customer-provided documentation through Permit Hub — Inspected’s proprietary inspection platform. This role ensures that inspected work meets required codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements while building the foundational proficiency, throughput habits, and professional standards that define success at Inspected.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform virtual residential inspections in licensed disciplines (Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing) via video, photos, or digital submissions through Permit Hub
- Identify defects, hazards, inconsistencies, and non-compliance issues in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements
- Accurately document inspection findings using Permit Hub within required turnaround windows — report accuracy and inspection speed are primary performance metrics at this level
- Communicate inspection results, required corrections, and professional recommendations clearly to contractors, building owners, and internal team members
- Advise contractors and building owners on code violations and the steps required to achieve compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of the Florida Building Code and all applicable jurisdictional requirements for assigned markets
- Participate in cross-training with inspection staff to broaden discipline knowledge and improve overall performance
- Attend and actively participate in team huddles, training sessions, and quality reviews
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the inspection process — responsiveness, professionalism, and clear communication in every interaction
- Complete all required continuing education and license renewal requirements on time without exception
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active State of Florida Residential Inspector License in one or more disciplines: Building (BN), Electrical (EN), Mechanical (MN), and/or Plumbing (PN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential inspections, construction, or plan review
- Strong working knowledge of the Florida Building Code and applicable jurisdictional requirements
- Ability to accurately interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to explain code violations clearly to contractors and homeowners
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet inspection turnaround deadlines consistently
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying connected and responsive to the team
- Reliable high-speed internet and a professional remote workspace
Preferred
- Active International Code Council (ICC) certification
- Experience with virtual or remote inspections
- Familiarity with Permit Hub or similar inspection management platforms
- Licensure in additional states (Texas, Tennessee, or other expansion markets)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
