About PolicyLift

PolicyLift is the AI-native growth engine for independent P&C agencies: one platform that drives growth, consolidates fragments of point solutions, so agencies can source and close premium faster. Our team brings experiences from top-tier technology companies like Google, Meta, and Insurtech leaders like Qualia.

PolicyLift is VC-backed, used by 1,000+ agents and actively services a book of over $1B in premium.

About the Role

You’re a former independent P&C agent who has quoted, bound, serviced and renewed policies. Now you'll draw on that experience to help build and implement technology that helps agents win more premium.

PolicyLift services a book of over $1B in premium, and we're adding agencies faster every month. This role is the person who helps get new agencies live, keeps their team unstuck, and brings the agent's point of view into what our team builds next. It's a hybrid of three things: product, onboarding, and ongoing agency success.

Customers listen to you because you've done their job. Our engineers listen to you for the same reason. You provide deep industry experience to solve real pain points at independent agencies.

Why this role exists

PolicyLift does four jobs for independent P&C agencies:

  • Grow. Website, SEO, AI search and email marketing that bring in leads.

  • Intake. AI agents, smart forms, and carrier data and documents, so every lead is captured and complete.

  • Submit. One-click transfer to the systems that matter: AMS, CRM, raters and carriers.

  • Bind. Comparisons and proposals that get the policy bound.

Every one of those touches the details agents care about: which carrier for which risk, what an HO-5 covers that an HO-3 doesn’t, how a BOP submission differs from a package. Agencies trust us with that work. The person who onboards them, trains their CSRs, and brings their feedback to our roadmap should speak their language fluently.

What you'll do

Insurance Workflow Expertise

  • Work directly with the leadership team on representing the independent agent, informing what we build, in what order, and what "done right" means for an agent.

  • Turn real agency scenarios into the standard we build and measure against: the personal lines and commercial lines cases every release has to get right.

  • Review new workflows, integrations, and automations before they ship, from the agent's seat.

  • Stay up to date on key agency technology such as AMS, raters, intake tools, carrier portals and download feeds our customers depend on, and where PolicyLift fits in each.

  • Participate in the industry by visiting agencies in person, attend conferences, and user groups as PolicyLift's most credible voice.

Onboarding and Implementation

  • Help get new agencies live on PolicyLift.

  • Learn how each agency handles intake, quoting, submissions, renewals and servicing, and configure PolicyLift to match.

  • Map each agency's stack (AMS, raters, carriers, CSR handoffs) and wire PolicyLift into it.

  • Train their team, from a two-person office to a 30-person agency rollout, and hand off a healthy account to our customer success lead.

  • Build quick-reference guides, onboarding checklists, role-based training paths and adoption playbooks, and turn one agency's wins into resources every agency gets.

Support

  • Be the first call when an agency hits something insurance-specific: a quote that doesn't look right, a carrier question, a workflow the AI should handle differently.

  • Reproduce, document and triage issues before escalating to engineering, then follow them through to resolution.

  • Help drive adoption early (low usage, reverted workflows, a CSR who went back to the old way) and fix the root cause: retraining, a workflow change, or a product request.

Who you are

  • A former (or current) agent. You hold or recently held a P&C license, and you've spent 3+ years in an independent agency as a producer, or account manager

  • Fluent in personal and commercial lines. You can explain HO-3 vs. HO-5, when an umbrella makes sense, BOP vs. package, GL class codes, experience mods and commercial auto symbols without looking them up.

  • Hands-on with agency tech. You've lived inside an AMS, run comparative raters, worked carrier portals and download feeds.

  • A process builder. You see the whole process from lead to renewal, not just the next task, and you notice where it breaks before you get there.

  • Bilingual: insurance agent and product specialist. You can earn an agency owner's trust in the morning and walk an engineer through an edge case in the afternoon.

  • Curious about AI. You don't need to write code. You do need to want to understand how the product works and help it get better.

Bonus qualifications

  • You've owned or run an agency, managed a personal/commercial lines team of producers, or managed a service team.

  • Designations such as CIC, CISR, CPCU or AINS.

  • You've led an AMS or rater migration or implementation.

  • You've tried AI tools in your agency and know where they fall short.

  • Any product or tech-adjacent experience.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Fully covered health, dental and vision (full-time only).

  • A fast-track to promotion in Product, Customer Success, or Support

  • A direct line to leadership: your feedback turns into real product insights

  • Meaningful ownership and visibility across company outcomes and internal operations.

  • A front-row seat at an early-stage AI company that respects what agents actually do.

  • An opportunity to bring your insurance expertise into a leading AI platform for insurance.

How we work

We’re an early-stage company. We move incredibly fast, priorities shift, and every day brings a new opportunity to solve a problem. Transitioning from an agency environment involves moving from a reactive mindset to a proactive approach. You aren’t sitting around waiting for the phone to ring or a ticket to be assigned to you. You seek out problems to solve, and attack them with intensity and focus.

  • Think like an owner. Don’t wait for someone else to make the call. You have a real stake in the company, and we expect you to act like it. Own the problem, not the ticket.

  • Why not today? Most things can be done today. An agency waiting on a fix shouldn’t wait a week. Ask yourself and the team: why can’t this be done now?

  • Don’t admire a problem. Problems are inevitable. What matters is how fast we move to a solution. Spend your energy on the fix, not the diagnosis.

  • Be kind, by being direct. When something is wrong for agents, say so, to us and to the customer. Honest feedback, delivered respectfully, is how we move fast

  • Work hard, play hard. We’re a small, tight-knit team. 80% of the time things are steady; 20% of the time it’s fires. Both are part of the job.

  • 1% better. Every onboarding, every playbook, every call: a little better than the last one.

Summary

  • Full-time, part-time or contract to start

  • New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, or remote (US)

  • Up to 20% travel
