Insurance Verification and Prior Authorization Specialist - Virtual Assistant

Rockstar is hiring a full-time Insurance Verification & Prior Authorization Coordinator on behalf of a physical therapy practice in Arkansas.

This role is responsible for managing insurance verification and prior authorization for patient treatments, ensuring patients can access the rehabilitation care they need without unnecessary delays. The VA will communicate directly with insurance providers, maintain accurate authorization records, and support HIPAA-compliant medical records requests. This is a great fit for someone who takes real ownership of the authorization process from start to finish and pays close attention to the details that keep patient care on track.

Key Responsibilities

Insurance Verification & Authorizations

• Manage insurance verification and benefit information for physical therapy services
  
• Obtain and follow up on insurance authorizations for patient treatments
  
• Communicate effectively with insurance providers to ensure timely approvals
  
• Maintain accurate records of authorization requests and follow-up actions
  
• Collaborate with the clinical team to address any authorization-related inquiries
  

Medical Records & Compliance

• Process medical records requests in accordance with HIPAA compliance standards
  
• Maintain accurate, secure documentation throughout the records request process
  

Administrative Support

• Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience obtaining benefit information and prior authorization in a physical therapy setting is required
  
• Familiarity with StrataPT, Availity, Inovalon, My Ability, and the United Healthcare portal is a plus
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong English dialect
  
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  
• Amenable to work U.S. Central Time business hours
  
• Reliable backup system in place to maintain coverage during internet or power outages
