Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a full-time Interim M&A Counsel to support a leading Publicly Traded Financial Intelligence Company

The legal team is seeking an experienced
M&A attorney
to provide additional support across a pipeline of strategic transactions and corporate initiatives. This is a high-impact opportunity to work within a sophisticated, global legal function supporting complex, cross-border deals.

6+ years as in-house counsel and/or in private practice

REMOTE (NYC preferred)
Responsibilities Include:
Provide day-to-day legal support on M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments
Draft, review, and negotiate transaction agreements (e.g., purchase agreements, NDAs, ancillary documents)
Support due diligence processes, including review of contracts, corporate governance materials, and risk identification
Partner closely with internal stakeholders across legal, finance, tax, and business teams
Assist with deal execution and closing processes, including coordination with external counsel
Contribute to the continuous improvement of M&A workflows and processes
Leverage experience with legal AI platforms such as Harvey or Legora to support transaction execution and efficiency
Help upskill the internal M&A legal team on practical applications of AI across workflows (e.g., due diligence, contract review, drafting, and knowledge management)
Identify opportunities to optimize legal processes using AI-enabled tools, improving speed, consistency, and scalability
Qualifications Include:
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
6+ years of M&A/corporate experience, ideally from a top law firm and/or in-house legal department
Strong experience handling complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions
Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
Prior exposure to or hands-on experience with legal AI tools (Harvey, Legora, or comparable platforms) strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
Pay Rate:
80-90/hour
Individual compensation offered for this position within the pay range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
