Internship – Sales

Benjamin David - Marketing, Sales/CS & Retail Manager.

“Stay hungry, stay foolish.”

The internship

Are you a student with an interest in sales, commercial operations and partnerships, looking to gain hands-on experience in an international environment?

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Intern to join the Heineken Experience team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience across ticketing, sales operations and partnership management within one of Amsterdam's leading visitor attractions.

You will be part of the Sales, Marketing & Retail team and work closely with the Ticketing & Partnership Specialist and Sales Operations Specialist to support the commercial success of the Heineken Experience.

You will contribute in three key areas:

Ticketing

  • Support ticket sales activities and assist customers with inquiries and bookings.
  • Help manage timeslot availability and scheduling to optimise capacity and visitor flow.
  • Assist in monitoring ticket sales performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Sales Operations

  • Prepare and process invoices related to sales activities.
  • Support the coordination of reservations, bookings and combination tickets.
  • Assist with updates and improvements to ticketing and sales systems.
  • Manage and track voucher distribution and redemption.
  • Support internal teams and external stakeholders with sales-related requests.
  • Help identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Partnerships and Collaborations

  • Prepare sales reports and analyse performance data to support decision-making.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with existing partners and identifying new opportunities.
  • Support the organisation of trade shows, industry events and partner activations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful partnership collaborations.

Your new team and workplace

The Heineken Experience is a brand experience located in Heineken®’s oldest brewery, in the heart of Amsterdam. The former brewery closed in 1988, when production outgrew the historic building. Today, it has been transformed into an immersive visitor experience and one of Amsterdam’s most recognisable attractions. As part of the Sales, Marketing & Retail team, you will contribute to attracting visitors, strengthening partnerships and supporting the commercial performance of the Heineken Experience. We are an international, dynamic and enthusiastic team that values collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement.

During your internship, you’ll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we’ll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

What a day in the internship could look like

You will start the day with a coffee and a quick catch-up with the team. From there it changes day to day. Some mornings you will be out at a partner meeting, other days it is our weekly work in progress meeting, and on Fridays we have our Friday Feelies. Otherwise, it is time to get through your inbox and projects. We have lunch together in the Heineken canteen. Afternoons are much the same mix of meetings, projects and the sales inbox, and every now and then you will come along to an event. You will learn a lot on the job, and you will get real responsibility early on, whether that is looking after partnerships, working on new revenue streams or pitching your own ideas.

The unique you!

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • A proactive and hands-on attitude.

Even if you feel you don’t meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
