IQ Intern - Tech, Measurement and Products
Butterfly Effect · UK · January 2027 · 6-month internship ·
Project Cocoon is our six-month internship programme. Real client work from day one, a dedicated captain invested in your development, and a clear decision on what comes next.
You build the thing instead of waiting for someone to build it. You have automated something nobody asked you to automate. When a tool doesn't exist, you make a rough version and see if it holds.
At Butterfly Effect, we believe bold creativity transforms communities and brands alike. We are a creative house of community builders, conversation drivers and chaos-makers.
Our mission is to harness the power of culture, creativity and strategic insight to elevate brands, shape conversations and spark lasting impact.
What you'll be doing
IQ is how Butterfly Effect knows things other agencies are guessing at. We build our own products rather than renting everyone else's.
Building internal tools and products that make the agency faster and sharper
Working out whether a creator campaign actually worked the measurement, not the screenshot
Pulling platform and campaign data into something a client can read in ten seconds
Automating the work that shouldn't need a human, so humans do the work that should
Explaining all of it to people who are brilliant and not technical
Who you are
We hire for six things, and we look for proof rather than promises.
Ambitious. You have a goal and you are already moving towards it, something you built, shipped or broke and fixed
Competitive. You keep score on your own progress and you want to be the best intern we have ever had
Durable. You have failed at something and carried on. Feedback sharpens you rather than flattens you
Heart of gold. You help people with nothing in it for you. This one is non-negotiable
Fresh thinking. You question how things have always been done, and you respect the creative side of the work as much as the technical side
Tech-inclined. You use AI and new tools every week, and you are building with them, not just chatting to them
What you'll need
Something you have built that we can look at or that you can walk us through. A repo, a tool, an automation, a model, a scraper, a spreadsheet that does something clever, we don't mind the form
You are comfortable with data: finding it, cleaning it, and saying what it means without overclaiming
You use AI tools weekly to build, and can show us what you made with them
You can commit to the full 90 days from January 2027, and you have the right to work in the UK
Nice to have
Python or SQL. APIs and webhooks. BigQuery or similar. No-code and agent tooling. Knowing your way around social platform metrics. Front-end skills. None of these decide it, and a strong self-taught builder beats a quiet graduate every time.
How to apply
Complete our application form, answering a few short questions (maximum 150 words each), and complete one creative task. The strongest applications will progress to the video stage.
