About HTSG

Halo Technical Solutions Global (HTSG) is a growing technical services and QA/QC organization supporting the construction and delivery of mission-critical data centers.

We operate differently than a traditional corporate IT environment. We are building the company, our systems, and our processes while simultaneously supporting employees working across multiple projects and locations.

Our technology environment already includes approximately 30 different software platforms, multiple websites, Microsoft 365, SharePoint sites, cloud-based applications, remote users, field employees, corporate systems, cybersecurity tools, mobile devices, and an expanding technology infrastructure.

We are looking for an IT professional who can help us bring all of this together.

This is not a position for someone who wants responsibility for only one piece of IT. We need a technically capable IT Swiss Army knife who enjoys solving problems, simplifying technology, supporting people, and building an IT organization that can scale with the company.

Position Title: IT Manager – Technology & Systems

Location: Remote

Compensation: $100,000+ Annually (DOE) | W2 Full Time | Salary-Exempt | Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental |

Position Overview

The IT Manager / IT Operations Lead will report directly to the COO and take ownership of the day-to-day technology environment across HTSG.

This person will be equally comfortable discussing technology strategy with executives, administering Microsoft 365, troubleshooting an employee's laptop, managing SharePoint, evaluating cybersecurity risks, working with software vendors, improving integrations between systems, and documenting how everything works.

The right person understands that in a growing company, the answer to "Who handles that?" will frequently be:

"IT does."

You do not need to personally be the world's foremost expert in every technology we use. You do need to have the technical depth, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and ownership mentality to figure things out, engage specialists when needed, and make sure problems get solved.

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations & Infrastructure

Own and support the overall HTSG technology environment, including:

  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Outlook and email administration
  • SharePoint architecture, sites, permissions, and governance
  • OneDrive and document management
  • User accounts, groups, licensing, and access
  • Windows computers and mobile devices
  • Device provisioning and employee onboarding/offboarding
  • Network connectivity and remote-access solutions
  • Printers, peripherals, conference-room technology, and related equipment
  • Domain names, DNS, hosting, and website infrastructure
  • Technology troubleshooting and employee support

You should be comfortable personally troubleshooting issues when necessary, rather than automatically passing them to someone else.

People Skills Are Critical

Technical capability alone will not make someone successful in this position. Our IT leader interacts with almost everyone in the company.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Communicates openly and frequently
  • Explains technical issues in simple language
  • Is patient with employees who are not technical
  • Builds relationships throughout the organization
  • Responds quickly when people need assistance
  • Keeps stakeholders informed
  • Doesn't disappear into an IT "black box"
  • Can respectfully challenge leadership when something creates technical or security risk
  • Is comfortable working directly with executives
  • Takes feedback well
  • Treats people with respect

Transparency is expected.

If something is broken, tell us.

If a project is behind, tell us.

If you don't know the answer, tell us—and then help find it.

If you believe we are making a poor technology decision, explain why.

We value open communication far more than surprises.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has broad experience across multiple areas of information technology rather than being narrowly specialized in one discipline.

Strong candidates may have experience with several of the following:

  • IT management
  • Systems administration
  • Microsoft 365, Windows & SharePoint administration
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, Microsoft Intune
  • Endpoint management
  • Cybersecurity, Identity & access management
  • Help desk / technical support
  • SaaS administration & Cloud technology
  • Website administration
  • Networking
  • DNS and domain management
  • Software integrations
  • APIs
  • Power Automate
  • Technology procurement
  • Vendor management
  • IT documentation
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery

Experience supporting construction, engineering, professional services, data centers, or a geographically distributed workforce would be beneficial but is not required.

What Matters More Than a Specific Degree

We care significantly more about what you can do than the letters following your name.

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is beneficial, but equivalent hands-on experience will absolutely be considered.

Technical certifications are welcomed but are not a substitute for demonstrated capability.

The Person Who Will Thrive Here

You will probably enjoy this job if you are the person who hears:

"Nobody knows how this works."

…and responds:

"Give me a little time. I'll figure it out."

You enjoy technology but also understand business.

You can think about IT architecture in the morning and troubleshoot someone's laptop in the afternoon.

You don't believe that certain work is "beneath your position."

You would rather solve the problem than debate who owns it.

You naturally organize environments that have become complicated.

You enjoy learning new systems.

You understand when to solve something yourself and when to bring in an outside specialist.

And as the company grows, you are interested in helping build the IT organization that will eventually support it.

Our Expectation

We are not looking for someone who simply maintains technology. We are looking for someone who will own it.

Someone technically capable enough to understand the details, business-minded enough to understand why they matter, and people-oriented enough to help our employees succeed. For the right person, this is an opportunity to join a growing organization and help build the technology foundation that supports where HTSG is going next.
