Job Description
IT Project Manager – Technology Transformation
£60,000–£72,000 | Permanent | Hybrid – Warwickshire
There aren't many IT Project Management roles where the
technology you're delivering ultimately contributes to the design, development
and production of some of the world's most recognisable products.
I'm supporting an iconic British luxury manufacturer that's
going through a significant transformation of its internal technology
capability.
As part of that investment, they're looking for an
experienced IT Project Manager to take ownership of complex technology projects
sitting at the intersection of IT, engineering and manufacturing.
This isn't really about being an expert in one particular
system.
It's about being a very good Project Manager in a complex
technical environment.
The role
You'll manage projects from initial planning through to
implementation and adoption, bringing together internal technology teams,
engineering stakeholders, business functions, suppliers and implementation
partners.
The portfolio includes major initiatives around enterprise
platforms, requirements management, software lifecycle management and
integrations into wider PLM and ERP environments.
Responsible for:
- Full
lifecycle IT project delivery
- Project
planning, governance and reporting
- Managing
budgets, resources, risks and dependencies
- Leading
cross-functional technical teams
- Managing
third-party suppliers and implementation partners
- Working
with senior stakeholders across IT, Engineering and Manufacturing
- Coordinating
complex systems and platform integrations
- Supporting
business process and organisational change
- Ensuring
new technology is successfully adopted and embedded
There's no direct line management responsibility, but you'll
be expected to lead and coordinate internal teams, contractors and external
suppliers and independently drive delivery forward.
The requirement
You don't necessarily need to have worked in automotive.
You do need experience delivering complex IT projects in an
environment where technology connects with physical products, engineering or
manufacturing.
That could be automotive, aerospace, defence, advanced
manufacturing or another complex engineering environment.
You'll need a track record of:
- Delivering
complex IT / digital transformation projects
- Managing
multiple technical and business stakeholders
- Working
with external suppliers and systems integrators
- Managing
project budgets and resources
- Strong
risk, issue and dependency management
- Operating
within structured governance/PMO environments
- Driving
delivery rather than simply reporting on it
Experience around PLM, ERP, requirements management,
software platforms or engineering systems would be particularly useful. Job
Description IT Project Mana…
One of the project areas also touches the software platforms
supporting next-generation vehicle architecture – including software asset
management, repositories and managing software across the development and
deployment lifecycle.
The brand is obviously a big part of the attraction.
But there's also a much wider technology transformation
happening behind it.
The organisation is investing in its internal digital
capability and modernising some of the core platforms underpinning how its
products are designed, engineered and ultimately built.
For a Project Manager, that means complex programmes,
serious stakeholders and technology where you can actually see the connection
between what you're delivering and the finished product.
Package
£60,000–£72,000
Plus a particularly strong benefits package including:
- Private
healthcare
- up
to 12% employer contribution

The role is based in Warwickshire, with hybrid working.
If you're an experienced IT Project Manager who's delivered
complex technology change within automotive, engineering or manufacturing, I'd
be very interested in speaking with you.
