IT Project Manager - Software Delivery

Location: Dublin City Centre
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days onsite
Rate: €550 per day
Contract Opportunity - 11 months

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate tangible delivery achievements rather than those whose experience is primarily focused on facilitating Agile ceremonies or coordinating activities.

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to take ownership of complex technology projects and drive delivery within a large, highly matrixed enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on delivery role for a strong Project Manager who can take accountability for outcomes, manage competing priorities and ensure projects are delivered successfully. You will work closely with product, programme, business and technology leaders, overseeing delivery throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

The successful candidate will bring strong project management fundamentals, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive accountability across multiple teams and workstreams. This is not simply a coordination or facilitation position - we are looking for someone who takes ownership, proactively manages challenges and gets things delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of one or more complex IT projects and technology delivery workstreams.

• Define project scope, objectives, roadmaps, milestones and delivery plans aligned with business and technology priorities.

• Partner with product, programme and engineering leaders to coordinate delivery across multiple teams.

• Manage project schedules, resources, dependencies, risks and release planning.

• Drive accountability across stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring actions, risks and commitments are actively managed and followed through.

• Monitor project progress and delivery health, providing clear, accurate and timely reporting to senior stakeholders.

• Use delivery metrics and performance indicators to identify issues, manage trade-offs and maintain delivery momentum.

• Lead prioritisation and planning activities, ensuring resources and capacity are aligned with business priorities.

• Ensure effective release management and readiness across teams, maintaining appropriate quality standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, predictability and operational efficiency.

• Drive continuous improvement and encourage ownership, collaboration and accountability across teams.
  
  

Required Experience & Skills

• 8-10 years' experience in IT Project Management, Technology Delivery or Programme Delivery roles.

• Strong experience managing projects within a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) environment.

• Proven track record of taking ownership of technology projects and delivering against agreed objectives and milestones.

• Extensive stakeholder management experience, including working with senior business and technology leaders.

• Experience operating within a large, complex and heavily matrixed enterprise organisation.

• Strong risk, issue and dependency management capabilities, with a proactive approach to resolution and follow-up.

• Excellent project reporting skills, including delivery status, milestones, KPIs and delivery health.

• Experience managing multiple teams, competing priorities and cross-functional workstreams.

• Strong understanding of iterative and Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and Lean.

• Ability to use delivery metrics and data to improve project predictability and performance.

• Excellent communication, influencing and decision-making skills.
