Java Team Lead | Microservices | Spring Boot | Kafka/MQ | Dublin Hybrid

We’re looking for a hands-on Java Team Lead to join a complex enterprise technology environment in Dublin, combining strong technical leadership with day-to-day engineering involvement.

This role would suit an experienced Java Lead who can drive technical excellence, mentor engineers and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development and deployment of microservices-based applications
• Remain hands-on across Java and Spring Boot development
• Lead and mentor engineers, promoting strong software engineering practices
• Work with event-driven and messaging technologies including Kafka and MQ
• Oversee database technologies and access patterns, including DB2 and Cassandra
• Maintain high standards across code quality, performance and security
• Work closely with stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Communicate and present upwards to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

We’re looking for:

• Strong commercial Java and Spring Boot experience
• Strong microservices architecture experience
• Proven technical/team leadership experience
• Kafka and/or MQ experience
• Database experience, ideally DB2 and/or Cassandra
• Experience working within complex enterprise environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership

Location: Dublin

Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite
