As a key player within the Bosch Home Comfort division, we develop and manufacture world-class heating and cooling solutions. We belong to the Electric Solutions (ES) business unit, dedicated to driving the global energy transition through state-of-the-art electric heat pump technology. To keep our high-efficiency systems running flawlessly, our network of over 1,000 service technicians across Europe and our engineering labs rely on dependable, modern desktop tools and software utilities. We are now seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team in Tranås. In this role, you will take ownership of key applications like our SWDL (Software Download) field tool and develop custom logging, data acquisition, and diagnostic utilities that empower our laboratory engineers during heat pump testing and verification. Your Contribution to Our Mission Desktop Application Development : Design, build, and maintain modern Windowsdesktop applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem. Empower Lab Engineers: Develop intuitive data logging, monitoring, and diagnosticutilities used by test engineers to capture and analyze system behavior in real time during laboratory testing. Flashing & Device Updates: Maintain and improve reliable software download and firmware flashing routines to support device updates in both laboratory environments and field service operations. Hardware & Device Communication: Implement and support robust communication interfaces connecting desktop software with embedded controllers and test equipment (such as serial and CAN-based communication). Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with embedded firmware engineers, hardware specialists, and lab testers to align on technical requirements and validate software tool releases. Usability & Continuous Improvement : Enhance UI/UX, automate data visualization, and streamline workflows to make complex diagnostics and testing simple and reliable. Who Are You? Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Core Competence in C#: Strong proficiency in desktop software development using C# and .NET (.NET Framework / modern .NET). Communication & Diagnostics Awareness: Experience or familiarity with hardwareinterfacing software, device communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus), and diagnostic or flashing procedures (such as UDS/bootloaders). Python Knowledge (Preferred) : Familiarity with Python is a valuable advantage for scripting, test automation, data analysis, and rapid prototyping. Embedded Understanding (Preferred) : Knowledge of C or C++ is a plus, helping you collaborate effectively with the firmware engineers developing the target microcontrollers. Lab & Tooling Experience: Practical background with test tooling, data loggers, telemetry software, or test automation is a strong plus. Problem-solving Mindset: A structured, analytical approach to troubleshooting software interactions with hardware devices and debugging communication traces. Languages : Professional working proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Swedish is considered a strong merit for day-to-day collaboration across our local site.
