As a Production Scheduler, you will develop and maintain production plans that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives. You will translate sales forecasts, customer requirements, new business opportunities, and supply constraints into an achievable monthly production plan.
In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with Production, Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, and business leaders to improve product availability, support customer commitments, and minimize excess inventory. Your analysis and recommendations will help the organization respond effectively to changing priorities while improving planning processes and operational performance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Production, and Supply Chain teams to develop and maintain a master production schedule that supports customer requirements.
- Partner with the sales and operations planning team to support product planning, forecasting, and alignment with manufacturing capacity.
- Evaluate material availability, inventory, manufacturing schedules, and capacity constraints to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Assess current and projected product availability and recommend realistic shipment commitments for customer orders.
- Monitor the relationship between demand forecasts and actual customer requirements, making ongoing adjustments to support product availability while avoiding excess inventory.
- Use supply chain planning systems to plan production materials and release scheduling messages for assembly, testing, rework, and project-related work orders.
- Evaluate requests to expedite orders based on material availability, manufacturing schedules, and capacity.
- Work closely with production leadership to monitor monthly build plans, identify potential gaps, and recommend changes when needed.
- Use material planning data to develop analyses and performance measures related to lead time, throughput, schedule attainment, forecast accuracy, and inventory.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Product Marketing to recommend improvements to finished-product bill-of-material structures.
- Support production system processes, testing, and implementation for new products or business requirements
- Perform business system transactions and work orders as needed to support operational activities
You apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals. You make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. You plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with the organizational goals. You develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
