Role Description The Junior Sales Representative is a full-time hybrid role (Somerset West/Helderberg, Cape Town, South Africa) responsible for supporting sales growth and customer relationships for Soprema products across SADC countries. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying prospective customers, conducting outreach via phone, email, and virtual meetings, and presenting product features and benefits. The role involves preparing quotations, following up on leads, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system, and coordinating with senior sales colleagues and technical teams to address customer needs. The Junior Sales Representative will assist in managing order pipelines, monitoring market trends, and participating in online sales trainings and product briefings. This position requires proactive communication, responsiveness to customer inquiries, and a commitment to meeting individual and team sales targets.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships remotely.
- Basic sales and negotiation skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, and follow-up to support closing opportunities.
- Comfort with digital tools such as CRM systems, online meeting platforms, and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations).
- Good organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail in documentation and order tracking.
- Ability to understand technical product information and explain it clearly to customers; experience in construction or building materials is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Fluency in English, with additional local languages in SADC countries considered beneficial.
