We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Product Creation and Industrialization (PC&I) brings together Ford’s vehicle, electric, digital and design teams with our global manufacturing system. Working as one end-to-end organization, we turn ideas into high-quality vehicles, software and experiences across gas, hybrid and electric, designed around what customers need.

In this position...
The Laser Welding & Robotic Programming Technician supports the setup, programming, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotic laser welding systems. This role works with engineering, production, maintenance, and customer teams to help deliver safe, reliable processes that meet weld-quality and production requirements.

What you'll do...

  • Program, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial robots used in laser welding and related manufacturing
    processes.
  • Support setup and optimization of laser-welding parameters to achieve required weld quality and
    process performance.
  • Assist with installing, commissioning, testing, and validating robotic laser systems at customer and
    production sites.
  • Support robot-vision systems, including verifying part-location data and applying robot-path
    corrections.
  • Run and update offline programs and simulations; check robot paths, reach, tooling access, and cycle
    time.
  • Diagnose robot, sensors, vision, laser, tooling, and communication issues; document findings and
    support corrective actions.
  • Work with engineering and controls teams to integrate robotic, electrical, mechanical, and software
    systems.
  • Follow established safety procedures and support equipment and process buyoffs.
  • Maintain robot programs, setup information, test records, and work instructions.
  • Assist with operator and maintenance training on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Communicate technical issues, progress, and customer needs clearly to project and engineering teams.

You'll have...

  • Experience in robotic programming, automation, laser processing, or manufacturing equipment
    support.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robots such as FANUC, KUKA, ABB, or Yaskawa Motoman.
  • Familiarity with robotic laser welding or another industrial laser process.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as project needs require.

Even better, you may have...

  • Experience with robot vision or guided-welding applications.
  • Familiarity with DELMIA V5, IGRIP, KUKA Sim, or other simulation and offline programming tools.
  • Exposure to Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP or
    PROFINET.
  • Experience in automotive, battery, aerospace, or other automated manufacturing environments.
  • Relevant robot, laser, or controls training or certifications.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
