We are looking for an experienced Lawyer to join our Legal Department on a temporary basis for approximately 2 years.

About the Legal Department

The Legal Department provides legal support to the Bank’s management bodies and business functions. Our work includes advising on corporate governance, regulatory implementation, contractual arrangements, dispute management, and other legal matters across the organization. Our team contains lawyers from all Baltic countries. We are working closely with business stakeholders, management bodies and colleagues across SEB bank and aim to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice.

About the Role

You will be part of the Legal Department, particularly within a team working on corporate governance and labor law matters.

• Supporting the development, maintenance and implementation of the Bank’s internal corporate governance framework, including governance documents, decision-making processes and annual governance-related activities,
• Monitoring new legal and regulatory developments in corporate governance and labor law, assessing their impact on the Bank and supporting their timely implementation,
• Identifying, monitoring and helping to prevent legal risks in corporate governance and labor law matters, and escalating material issues where appropriate,
• Providing legal support to management bodies and other internal stakeholders on corporate governance matters, including preparation, review and quality assurance of governance materials,
• Advising on internal rules, representation rights, authorizations, delegation arrangements and other corporate governance documentation,
• Advising internal stakeholders on labor law matters, including employment documentation, employee-related processes and the legal aspects of organizational changes,
• Representing the bank in courts and other dispute resolution authorities in labor law cases,
• Cooperating with Legal, HR, Compliance and business stakeholders to ensure practical, consistent and business-oriented legal advice in corporate governance and labor law matters.

• A Master’s degree in Law,
• At least 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in a financial institution, law firm, supervisory authority or another regulated environment,
• Ability to translate legal requirements into practical and business-oriented advice,
• Ability to work independently,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,
• Professional working proficiency in Lithuanian and English.
