We are looking for an experienced Lawyer to join our Legal Department on a temporary basis for approximately 2 years.

About the Legal Department

The Legal Department provides legal support to the Bank’s management bodies and business functions. Our work includes advising on corporate governance, regulatory implementation, contractual arrangements, dispute management, and other legal matters across the organization. Our team contains lawyers from all Baltic countries. We are working closely with business stakeholders, management bodies and colleagues across SEB bank and aim to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice.

About the Role

You will be part of Legal Department, particularly within a team working on payment services, digital channels, other daily banking matters, cash management, as well as procurement from third party providers.

• Advising internal stakeholders on legal requirements applicable to payment services, digital channels, other daily banking matters, cash management services, and related customer processes,
• Advising on customer requests and responding to complaints related to accounts, payments, digital channels and other daily banking matters,
• Monitoring regulatory developments related to payment services, digital channels, other daily banking matters, cash management services, assessing their impact on the Bank and supporting their timely implementation,
• Preparing, reviewing and maintaining standard customer agreements, terms and conditions, customer information materials and other legal documentation for daily banking and cash management services,
• Advising on non-standard customer agreements and supporting negotiations where legal input is required,
• Preparing, reviewing and maintaining standard procurement agreements with third party providers, including ICT services providers,
• Reviewing individual agreements with third party providers,
• Cooperating with Legal, Compliance, Business, Product, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure practical, consistent and business-oriented legal advice in daily banking matters,
• Representing SEB with the external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and Lithuanian Banking Association.

• A Master’s degree in Law,
• At least 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in a financial institution, law firm, supervisory authority or another regulated environment,
• Ability to translate legal requirements into practical and business-oriented advice,
• Ability to work independently,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,
• Professional working proficiency in Lithuanian and English.
