Lead enterprise security engineering and segmentation

We are looking for an experienced Lead Cyber Security Engineer with strong Illumio knowledge and engineering experience to lead the design, deployment and evolution of enterprise security infrastructure and micro-segmentation capabilities.

You will work closely with technology, architecture, cyber security and transformation teams to deliver scalable security architectures, drive interoperability across complex network and cloud environments, and ensure security frameworks meet high standards of quality and compliance.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the design, deployment and maintenance of enterprise cyber security solutions and infrastructure.

• Design and implement robust Illumio-based micro-segmentation and security controls.

• Work closely with Cyber Security, Architecture and Engineering teams to deliver segmentation capabilities.

• Define scalable and integrated security architectures aligned with long-term technology and architectural goals.

• Partner with senior technology stakeholders, architects, CISO functions and cyber threat intelligence teams on enterprise transformation programmes.

• Support security architecture governance and contribute to security councils and working groups.

• Drive interoperability across network, cloud and security technologies.

• Support cloud adoption and broader digital transformation initiatives.

• Develop automation and scripting using Python, Shell and similar technologies to streamline operational activities.

• Automate activities including software installations and upgrades, database and OS patching, and server provisioning.

• Develop comprehensive project plans and conduct technical impact assessments.

• Troubleshoot complex, high-impact technical issues and support rapid service restoration.

• Maintain a strong focus on client experience, security, scalability and operational resilience.

What you’ll bring

• Strong hands-on experience with Illumio and enterprise micro-segmentation.

• Strong Cyber Security Engineering experience within complex enterprise environments.

• Experience designing, deploying and maintaining network and cloud security controls.

• Strong understanding of security architecture and integrated security frameworks.

• Experience working with VMware security technologies and virtualised environments.

• Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with Python and Shell.

• Experience automating infrastructure and operational processes.

• Experience working across network, cloud and security environments.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior technology, security and architecture stakeholders.

• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or technology programmes.

• Strong project planning, technical analysis and complex incident troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively across architecture, engineering, cyber security and technology teams.
