We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to architect, build, and govern automated platforms that enable reliable, secure, and scalable delivery across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises environments. You will take ownership of the DevOps strategy, drive technical direction, and lead a team of engineers while shaping CI/CD practices, infrastructure automation, environment management, and production reliability in close partnership with development, QA, product, and client-facing teams.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision and roadmap for CI/CD pipelines, driving continuous integration, testing, and deployment across multiple environments; set standards that ensure stability, performance, and reliability while minimizing build failures
- Establish and govern version control best practices (branching strategies, tagging, artifact management) and own release cycles end-to-end, including validation, smoke testing, and rollback strategies
- Define the strategy for storing Plan & Code Templates in Git repositories alongside application code, ensuring template updates are version-controlled, code-reviewed, and tracked at the organizational level
- Lead the design of environment provisioning, configuration, and upgrade automation; architect reusable automation frameworks and components to improve scalability and eliminate manual operations
- Oversee the deployment and management of environments across development, testing, and production stages, owning the full lifecycle (provisioning, configuration, upgrades & patching, decommissioning) while enforcing standardization and compliance across teams
- Architect and scale multi-client and multi-environment setups in SaaS or hybrid models
- Define the observability strategy — monitoring, logging, and alerting — across platforms and pipelines; lead root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and continuously improve system reliability, SLAs, and operational KPIs
- Own the environment data lifecycle strategy (data provisioning, masking for non-prod environments, sampling and reduction) and govern database operations such as migration, sanitization, and reconciliation, ensuring security and data governance compliance
- Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for environment and platform incidents, lead resolution of complex cross-system issues, and coordinate across support, product, and client teams
- Partner strategically with development, QA, product, and client stakeholders to align on CI/CD integration, test automation, environment consistency, release readiness, and smooth delivery across the project lifecycle
- Champion DevOps culture and principles — automation-first, continuous integration & delivery, shift-left testing — proactively identify systemic inefficiencies, and lead initiatives around internal tooling, documentation, and standardization
- Mentor engineers, lead onboarding, foster knowledge sharing, and grow the technical maturity of the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and CI/CD
- At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Deep expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps, with a track record of designing enterprise-grade pipelines
- Advanced proficiency in version control systems (Git), including strategy definition for large teams
- Strong skills in template engines, specifically FreeMarker (FTL)
- Advanced scripting capabilities with Shell, Python, and Groovy
- Solid background in Linux/Unix operating systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS, at an architectural level
- Working knowledge of RDBMS databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Proven experience architecting, building, and operating CI/CD pipelines in complex, large-scale environments
- Strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools, as well as SaaS / distributed architectures
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with proven ability to lead teams through high-pressure production incidents
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical audiences; proactive, team-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience mentoring and growing engineers
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Azure or GCP cloud platforms
- Experience defining DevOps strategy and standards at the organizational or program level
