We are looking for an experienced Senior Dispatcher to join a California-based trucking company operating tanker and dry van equipment.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in U.S. trucking operations who is confident managing drivers, coordinating loads, and keeping daily operations running smoothly.
The Senior Dispatcher will be a key member of the operations team, supporting day-to-day dispatch activities and serving as the primary dispatcher during weekend shifts. We're looking for someone who can work independently, communicate effectively, and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Dispatch and manage drivers operating throughout the United States.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments, and schedule adjustments.
- Monitor load progress and driver performance throughout the day.
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers regarding load information, delays, and operational updates.
- Work closely with operations to ensure loads are serviced efficiently and on time.
- Assist drivers with operational challenges and help resolve issues as they arise.
- Update dispatch systems and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize TMS and fleet management systems to monitor daily operations.
- Manage dispatch activities during weekend shifts and serve as the primary dispatcher during those periods.
- Support overall fleet efficiency while maintaining high service levels.
- 3+ years of experience in U.S. trucking dispatch operations.
- Strong understanding of dispatch workflows, driver management, and load coordination.
- Experience dispatching dry van and/or tanker fleets preferred.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Experience using TMS platforms.
- Experience with Trimble and Samsara is highly preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in a senior dispatch, fleet coordinator, or similar operational role is a plus.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with drivers and operations teams.
You understand the pace of U.S. trucking operations and know how to balance customer service, driver support, and operational efficiency.
You are comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, communicating with drivers throughout the day, and ensuring loads move according to plan. You can work independently when needed, especially during weekend operations, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
