Lead Product Designer Co-own product discovery & shape intuitive customer experiences 🔮 I want to apply 🛸 Blue Monkeys in Space is the company behind our Body Jewelry webshop Bodymod 💍 Use your designing knowledge and skills to elevate our brand beyond new galaxies 🛰️ As our senior, hands-on Lead Product Designer , you will act as a co-owner of product discovery alongside product management, helping to shape and determine the best possible solutions rather than simply delivering what is asked. You are someone who seeks to understand the full context before delivering a result—thinking of answers to questions we haven't asked yet and catching potential UX or UI issues well before they occur. You will personally take projects from initial problem definition through user journeys, rapid low-fidelity exploration, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI implementation. Additionally, you will help guide, manage, and mentor our UX/UI Designer. Your scope Lead the design of complex digital features and customer journeys from discovery through implementation. Be proactive in aligning early research and design with upcoming roadmap projects, identifying where wireframes and prototypes require user testing in advance. Facilitate interactive brainstorming sessions with product, rapidly creating low-fidelity concepts in Figma to explore UI directions in real time. Create user journeys, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and final responsive UI designs. Contribute to PRDs by documenting user journeys, interaction logic, expected behaviours, different system states and edge cases. Collaborate on user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure the intended experience is accurately described. Work closely with product managers and developers throughout planning, handover and implementation. Conduct design QA and follow up on differences between the intended and implemented experience. Use customer insights, data and experiment results to support design decisions. Maintain and develop our Figma design system and ensure consistency across the digital experience. Manage and mentor a UX/UI Designer, including reviewing their work, providing feedback and supporting their professional development. What you bring onboard You have solid experience as a Senior or Lead Product Designer working on digital products. You have a strong portfolio showing complex projects that you have personally taken from initial problem to final UI. You are highly skilled in user journeys, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design and responsive UI design. You have advanced experience with Figma and design systems. You are proficient in rapid visual conceptualisation and speed-prototyping, with a strong bias toward fast iteration over early pixel-perfection. You understand agile software development and technical concepts to collaborate effectively with engineering—especially understanding how your design decisions will impact development time. You are detail-oriented and don't let UI design mistakes reach development. You can translate complex requirements into clear and intuitive customer experiences. You are comfortable working closely with product managers and developers. You use customer insights and data to inform your decisions. You have experience mentoring, guiding or managing another designer. You excel at communicating in oral and written English and can explain and document design decisions . Good-to-haves Experience with e-commerce or international websites Understanding of A/B testing or conversion optimisation The position Preferably based or willing to relocate to Malta (Fully remote will also be considered) 🇲🇹 Full-time position (40 hours per week), requiring significant overlap with our CET-based product team Flexible working hours Competitive salary and benefits package based on experience.
