About Ember We're building the future of public transport — convenient, connected, affordable and zero-emission. Our goal is to make it easier to get from A to B with Ember than it is with your own car. We’ve already demonstrated that it's possible to use electric buses more intensively than anyone else in the world. This leads to a massive emissions reduction and is only possible because we control the full-stack and integrate it tightly together. That includes the tech platform, the charging infrastructure and the vehicles themselves. This also means we’re providing a much better passenger experience with innovative features like demand-responsive stops. We’ve come a long way but we’re still relatively early in the stages of growth, with 20 routes and 118 buses. The challenge is to scale this 50x whilst staying lean, increasing efficiency and delivering an even better product experience. We’ve recently raised equity from some of Europe’s leading climate VCs and are looking for mission-driven individuals who can help take us to the next level. The role We are looking for an experienced learning and development specialist to lead the design, development and continuous improvement of Ember’s driver training and development programmes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of driver development by creating high-quality learning solutions for both new and experienced drivers, improving operational standards and building internal capability to deliver industry leading training. Working closely with our Operations team across Scotland, you will develop structured learning programmes that support drivers throughout their careers - from acquiring licences, to inducting them into the Ember way, through to ongoing professional development, remedial coaching and leadership support. The successful person will create internal capability by developing training materials, introducing consistent learning standards and training others to effectively deliver the programmes you design. What you will do We're still a scale-up, and your role will be broad. At a minimum it will include: Design and develop a comprehensive driver learning and development framework Create and implement high-quality training programmes from induction, driver CPC, refresher training and remedial coaching Build internal capability by developing training resources and introducing consistent standards and assessment practices Collaborate with Operations leaders to identify learning needs, analyse performance trends and design targeted learning interventions that support continuous improvement, customer service and operational excellence Monitor, evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of learning programmes through quality assurance, learner feedback and operational performance data Start dates and timings We're growing very rapidly and are looking for the right candidate to start as soon as they are available.
