Position Overview

We are seeking an early-career Legal Advisor or Commercial Manager to join our Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent law graduate or someone at the beginning of their legal career who is interested in building commercial legal experience within a global technology company.

You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience across commercial contracts, legal operations and compliance, working alongside experienced colleagues and cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, Sourcing and Product. You’ll have the opportunity to support a fast-moving international business while developing practical knowledge of SaaS, cloud technology and modern commercial models.

We’re not looking for someone who already knows everything. We’re looking for someone who is curious about technology and commercial law, comfortable learning new concepts, and motivated to develop their skills in a fast-moving environment.

Candidates may be law graduates, LPC/SQE graduates, newly qualified solicitors, or individuals with another relevant legal or commercial background. A strong learning mindset, sound academic foundation and genuine interest in technology and commercial contracts are more important than specific years of experience. We are also looking for someone who incorporates AI into the way they work, who can challenge the way we work today and maximise the efficiencies that can be made from AI and other new technology solutions – this will be a critical factor in our selection of a final candidate.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Legal team in providing practical, business-oriented contract support for Sales and Sourcing.
  • Championing AI and technology adoption for greater efficiency in legal processes.
  • Reviewing, structuring, and drafting a range of commercial agreements, including RFP responses, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, etc.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to understand business priorities and navigate commercial risk.
  • Providing legal and business negotiation guidance on commercial transactions.

Additionally, you will assist the Legal Administration Hub which supports the business with:

  • Contract and NDA production, signature and archiving
  • Onboarding of customers and vendors
  • Legal Department templates and processes
  • Company Secretarial support
  • Compliance (anti-corruption, hospitality, conflicts, screening, ESG policy, staff training)
  • Trade Compliance
  • Intellectual Property support

Personal Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with some experience drafting and negotiating commercial arrangements.
  • Proficiency in using AI-assisted platforms, to efficiently analyse information, draft content, and solve business problems
  • Foundational commercial awareness with the ability to balance legal and business considerations effectively.
  • Flexible working style that thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to continuously learn about emerging technology and cloud business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to identify and resolve legal issues, using sound judgement and practical approaches.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of an integrated business-legal team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Experience & Qualifications

We recognize that strong candidates may come from different professional backgrounds. We welcome applications from recent graduates and candidates beginning their legal careers. Previous in-house legal experience, PQE or commercial contracting experience is a plus, but not required.

  • An undergraduate law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification; OR have completed or are progressing through an LPC, SQE or equivalent pathway.
  • A genuine interest in commercial law, technology and the way SaaS and cloud-based businesses operate.
  • Some exposure to commercial or technology-related topics through university modules, internships, work experience, extracurricular activities or personal learning is helpful, but not essential.

Location

The role is remote based within the UK, with willingness and ability to travel to our Southampton office as needed.

We regret that we are unable to offer trainee solicitor positions, and any law graduate who has not fully qualified can only be employed as a Commercial Manager with the specific role and responsibilities adjusted accordingly.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • MediaKindness Wellbeing Program
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options

Here at MediaKind, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where we appreciate the unique skills, capabilities and perspectives that our people bring. We believe that diverse teams are better for our employees, customers and our business. Everyone’s identity, background and life experiences add to the MediaKind story, and we welcome all.
