Show job description

We’re looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join us on our journey to become one stronger, more integrated SaaS business. You’ll work across commercial contracts, privacy and cybersecurity in the European and North American market, partnering with colleagues across the organisation to find practical solutions and support our growth.

Reporting to our General Counsel, you’ll work at the intersection of commercial law, privacy, cybersecurity and business transformation. You’ll play a key role in enabling business growth, supporting complex customer deals, and ensuring that our legal commitments are practical, proportionate and aligned with how we operate.

Whether you’re building on your experience in private practice or looking to grow further in an in-house role, this is an opportunity for you to take ownership, learn along the way, and make a real difference.

We are open to on-site (offices in Copenhagen and Wrocław), hybrid, and remote working within two time zones of our offices (CET), plus the US East Coast.

About us

Cookie Information, Piwik PRO, and Sheltr, are leading SaaS brands specialising in privacy-first compliance and analytics. Together, we’re building intuitive, user-friendly products that help organisations navigate data privacy and marketing insights. With headquarters in Copenhagen and an office in Wrocław, our teams have been working across various industries to build trusted data privacy solutions since 2011.

We’re bringing our brands closer together to build one company with a shared identity in the group, a clear focus and ambitious plan for the future. The Legal, Compliance and Cybersecurity team has a core role to play in making that happen.

The role

These will be your main tasks:

Handle commercial contracts, particularly sales contracts

  • Draft, review and negotiate customer contracts for EU and US customers.
  • Support partner, reseller and supplier agreements, as well as more specialised regulatory requirements such as DORA-related terms and US healthcare BAAs.
  • Work closely with Sales and Account Management to find solutions that support our commercial goals while managing legal risks.

Privacy compliance and cybersecurity

  • Support GDPR compliance, international data transfers, sub-processor management and relevant UK and US privacy requirements.
  • Work with our Cybersecurity team on NIS2 compliance and related contractual requirements.
  • Help our Cyber Security and Compliance teams to respond to customer privacy and security questionnaires, audits and due diligence requests.
  • Advise Product teams on privacy, consent and data protection, helping ensure that our commitments reflect how we actually work.

Help shape the way we work

  • Improve legal templates, processes and ways of working as the business grows.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Sales, Product, Security, Finance and Operations.
  • Contribute to shaping our legal function and how we support the wider business.

About you

You’re a structured, independent, and commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working with people and finding practical solutions. You combine sound legal judgement with a practical understanding of how a business operates. You’re comfortable challenging assumptions, thinking creatively and making decisions, even when the answer isn’t entirely straightforward.

You know that good legal advice is not just about identifying risks; it’s about helping the business understand those risks and finding a way forward.

You bring:

  • 2-5 years of experience with commercial contracts, gained in-house or at a law firm.
  • An understanding of B2B contracting and an interest in SaaS or technology businesses.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR and privacy law in a commercial context, or relevant experience with HIPAA and US privacy law.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, and comfortable working directly with Sales on live deals and making pragmatic judgement calls.
  • Fluency in English (C2).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cybersecurity regulations (NIS2 and/or DORA).
  • Experience with HIPAA, including negotiating BAAs.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, employment/HR legal matters (DK, PL, DE, and/or US).
  • Experience with US customers and US commercial contracting, including state privacy laws and/or wiretap/tracking litigation risk.
  • Experience building processes and templates in a growing legal function.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to make a real impact. You’ll help shape a growing international SaaS business as it evolves towards a more integrated, enterprise-ready organisation. You won’t simply be maintaining existing processes; you’ll help develop the legal and commercial foundations for our next stage of growth.
  • International exposure and commercial ownership. You’ll work on customer and partner relationships across the US and Europe, gaining exposure to complex commercial negotiations and a broad range of legal and regulatory challenges.
  • The chance to broaden your expertise, take ownership of meaningful projects and grow with the business.
  • Professional development budget, health insurance, and other benefits.
  • A positive, informal workplace.

Application process

We’re looking to fill the position as soon as possible and will be inviting candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis, so don’t hesitate to send your application today.

This is what our recruitment process looks like:

  • A brief screening call with our Talent Partner (online, approx. 30 mins)
  • An in-depth interview with the General Counsel and a stakeholder from the company (online)
  • A final interview with our General Counsel including a live case (online or in-person, TBD)

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability. We recognise that certain groups are underrepresented in the tech industry, and we encourage everyone to apply and help us shape a more inclusive workspace.
