About the Role
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our legal team and provide legal advice and support across the group’s day-to-day operations. Your work will focus on drafting and reviewing a wide range of contracts and supporting negotiations. You will work closely with the group’s companies and teams to develop practical solutions that support business objectives and help put them into action.
At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team of leading experts in technology and national defence, building next-generation defence missile systems for the free world. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your contribution shapes how we verify and demonstrate advanced defence systems. If you thrive on innovation and impact — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts and negotiations: draft, review, amend and manage commercial contracts, assess contractual risks and support negotiations.
Day-to-day legal advice and support: advise and support the group’s companies and teams on contract law, the law of obligations and other legal matters arising from their daily operations.
Defence sector requirements and legal developments: analyse requirements applicable to the group’s operations, including defence sector regulations, and monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments; assess their impact and support the planning and implementation of measures needed to meet those requirements.
Regulatory inquiries and proceedings: prepare responses, legal positions and documentation, and support communications with regulators and other public authorities in the countries where the group operates.
Disputes and claims: handle complaints, contractual disputes and other legal claims, and coordinate external legal counsel where necessary.
Legal documentation and processes: draft and maintain internal documents, contract templates and guidelines, keep legal documentation organised and up to date.
We Would Love You to Have
A master’s degree in law and practical experience as an in-house lawyer or at a law firm, ideally with experience in a startup or the defence sector.
Strong knowledge of contract law and the law of obligations, with experience drafting, analysing and negotiating a range of contracts.
The ability to assess legal risks in a commercial context and provide clear, actionable solutions.
An analytical and systematic approach, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar legal issues and prioritise effectively.
Independence and a strong sense of ownership: you take responsibility for matters and drive them through to completion.
Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to colleagues without a legal background.
Strong English language skills.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
