At Slater and Gordon, we work towards powerful outcomes for our clients every day. As a Legal Counsel in Public Liability, you’ll manage your own practice, working closely with clients, colleagues, counsel and external experts. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and help strengthen the technical skills of the team and client and referral relationships that support our work.

What you’ll do

• Manage new and existing client matters, including complex legal issues.
• Build trusted client relationships through clear communication and considered advice.
• Work with external experts to progress matters.
• Support and develop junior lawyers and legal support staff.
• Maintain effective file management, identify risks and help achieve timely outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• A sound working knowledge of your practice area.
• Strong client communication skills and the ability to manage expectations.
• Sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence taking responsibility for matters, while knowing when to seek guidance.

• An interest in developing client and referral relationships and supporting others to grow.
