Wicker Hamilton is a specialist legal recruitment firm operating across the UK and US legal markets, partnering with leading international law firms and in-house legal teams across a broad range of practice areas.

We currently have 2 team members in South Africa who are focused on US legal recruitment, and performing well, and we are now in the position to start growing the team.

We are looking to hire two experienced Legal Recruitment Consultants to work directly alongside our existing US and UK operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company as we continue to increase our international headcount.

The Role

You will focus primarily on the US legal market, working with both leading law firms and in-house legal teams.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing relationships with lawyers, legal teams and law firms across the US
• Working on high-value retained and contingent legal recruitment assignments
• Identifying, engaging and managing senior legal talent throughout the recruitment process
• Building long-term candidate and client relationships
• Supporting business development initiatives
• Helping establish and grow Wicker Hamilton's South African presence

About You

We are specifically looking for individuals who:

• Have a minimum of 1 year of legal recruitment experience
• Have recruited within either private practice, in-house legal, or both
• Are based in South Africa and have the unrestricted right to work
• Can engage confidently with lawyers and senior legal professionals
• Are commercially driven, ambitious and self-motivated
• Thrive in a fully remote, entrepreneurial environment

Earning Potential

Alongside a competitive base salary, the role offers an uncapped commission structure.

US legal recruitment commands some of the highest fees in the recruitment industry, with individual placements typically generating fees of $20,000-$60,000 (approximately R360,000-R1,080,000).
