Position: Licensing & Contracting Representative

Reporting to: Licensing & Contracting Manager
Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 per year, based on experience
About Us
MyPlanAdvocate (MPA) is a mission-driven Medicare brokerage licensed in all 50 states and D.C. We give Medicare beneficiaries and caregivers free, no-obligation guidance. Our licensed agents advocate for clients, even when the best plan is one we don't offer.
Our mission: we empower driven people to change lives, starting with their own.
About the Role
Every MPA agent must be properly licensed, appointed, and certified before helping a single client. The Licensing & Contracting team makes that happen. As a Licensing & Contracting Representative, you'll own the full agent lifecycle, from first contracting paperwork through active selling status, renewals, and transfers. You'll keep our agents compliant and ready to sell, so Medicare beneficiaries can trust the advice they get.
This role fits someone who thrives on accuracy, follow-through, and high volume, and who treats a missed deadline as a problem to prevent, not explain.
Core Responsibilities
- Agent Onboarding & Contracting: Own the end-to-end contracting process for every new agent entering MPA, from initial paperwork receipt through active production status. Review and process all contracting documentation, identify deficiencies early, and drive each file to completion. Own the transfer process for agents moving from outside agencies, ensuring appointments and commission assignments are reassigned correctly and on time. Keep the onboarding pipeline moving with clear documentation and timely follow-through on every open file.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Manage the working relationship with carrier partners on all matters related to agent appointments, status changes, and issue resolution. Communicate proactively with carriers to initiate appointments, process changes, and resolve discrepancies. Represent MPA professionally in every carrier interaction; accuracy and responsiveness are the baseline expectation.
- Agent Support & Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary daily contact for agents and sales management on all licensing and contracting matters across multiple channels (Gmail, Slack, Asana, and internal tickets). Own escalated issues through to resolution and follow up proactively on every outstanding item: missing signatures, background disclosures, incomplete forms, or pending certifications. Agents should be able to get a clear status update without having to ask twice.
- Certifications & Appointments: Own the certification and appointment lifecycle for every assigned agent, by carrier and by state. Maintain a forward-looking view of certification deadlines and renewal windows so nothing lapses unexpectedly. Initiate processes ahead of schedule, support agents in meeting completion timelines, and escalate non-responsive agents to sales leadership before a lapse occurs.
- Licensing & Compliance Management: Own the licensing status of every agent on your assigned MPA roster across all active states. Track, verify, and audit licenses, continuing education (CE) compliance, and background check requirements on an ongoing basis. Flag expiring licenses and compliance gaps before they become production blockers. The standard is zero agents selling out of compliance on your assigned book of agents.
- Process & Systems Ownership: Own day-to-day use of AgentSync and carrier contracting portals, keeping agent records accurate, statuses current, and documentation complete. Identify process gaps or recurring bottlenecks and bring solutions to the team. Contribute to a consistent, high-quality standard across the L&C team through reliable execution and a willingness to share what works.
